Let's stand for justice, equality and sensitivity
msunando15 October 2021
Rashmi Veera (Taapsee Pannu) has a natural talent, she sprints like a rocket soaring. She gets noticed by an army trainer, Major Gagan Thakur (Priyanshu Paiyuli) on location in Bhuj who inspires her to shed her personal inhibitions and compete at a professional athletic level. Soon, Rashmi shoots to national fame as the fastest sprinter, much to the chagrin of some male decision makers in the Indian Athletic Association and to the envy some of her own compatriots. Having risen like the Phoenix until now, Rashmi is suddenly slapped with utter humiliation as she is subjected to a gender testing which reveals that she has higher level of testosterone in her blood than is permissible under the international code of athletics.

All the fame, glory and reputation crash through the ground for Rashmi as the is banned from participating in competitive athletics by the association and she plunges herself into depression. Major Thakur and a lawyer Isheet (Abhishek Banerjee) take it upon themselves to convince Rashmi to fight the injustice meted out to her by the association and draw her out of her self isolation. Initially reluctant, Rashmi agrees to go the whole nine yards and prove that the whole witch hunt has been instigated by a high handed association office bearer who has a significant conflict of interest.

Rashmi Rocket is a relevant theme. It is a crusade against the unjust treatment of and discriminatory practices against high performing female athletes, several of whom have either gone into oblivion or lost the battle against an unfair life. It's a sensitive portrayal of courage, determination, empathy, support and love that are pitted against personal interests, rigid rules and unwillingness to change. There are some poignant moments, even though the courtroom drama lacks conviction and reality. Taapsee Pannu has taken up an unconventional role and gives her very best - she is extraordinary. She is ably supported by Priyanshu Paiyuli, Abhishek Banerjee, Akash Khurana, Supriya Pathak and Varun Badola. Rashmi Rocket is content driven, relevant and avoids being preachy, whilst bringing to the table a very pertinent issue of unfair treatment, violation of privacy and dignity of female athletes.

Engaging sports drama in the second half
madonnicallysony20 October 2021
I heard a lot of bad reviews regarding this movie but the story or rather the incident which this movie is based on is relevant and important.

The supporting cast makes this movie worth watching: Supriya Pathak, Abhishek Bannerjee and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Stellar performances. Taapsee is just ok and needs to really focus on her acting skills. Her emotional dialogue delivery is horrible.

All in all, this movie is not as bad as the people are projecting it to be. The movie picks up the pace after 40 mins or so.

Decent, but could have been way better
pranayjalvi15 October 2021
Rashmi Rocket had the potential to be even more greater, given the content and theme of the movie, however it was a bit muddled in the first 40 minutes before making an impact on the second half of the movie.

There is no doubt that Taapsee did a great job in portraying her character, however a number of aspects weren't upto the mark when it came to showcasing the issues faced by athletes even today. The courtroom drama felt a bit of an exaggeration rather than information.

Even though there were few flaws, Rashmi Rocket somehow stays strong and Taapsee makes sure to stay it that way. With few unnecessary scenes, a bit of over the top drama pulled Rashmi Rocket from being a very good movie, although the performance of the lead was commendable.

My Rating : 6.5/10.

Truly a rocket

Sameer lodaya

The movie was truly a rocket in every sense

The story is a of a village girl who turns out to be a athlete and her journey towards the unfair tests done on her

The direction is ok and needed some polishing..tapsee as usual to be a strong character..the show topper was Abhishek Baneerji great performance by him..the background scores were up to the scale

The movie has everything to offer you like emotions ,drama ,love story ,strong court room scenes, knowledge about athletes rules, emotions, locations etc

A full family watch.

Average movie
altafnavalur15 October 2021
Poor direction, first half is very slow and boring. Second half is a bit better. Specially a scenes that show running doesn't excite as much as it should have.

Avoid like plague
badimi15 October 2021
Such a waste of time on movies like these, no doubt names are big and performances are average, but subtext of script is as usual like a B grade movie. Neither actors nor the script writers have done enough research on the sport on which they made this movie, resulting in a movie that's tortuous and convoluted.

Avoid this idiotic movie and watch 'Run Fatboy Run' or 'McFarland, USA' instead for a feelgood factor. You will thank me :)

Sports must stop gender testing
vkamale15 October 2021
The humiliation women atheletes face for gender testing is very well potraited in "Rashmi Rocket".

10 novel points for a new script from Indian Cinema.

Such hidden issues must be spoken off and written off if India wants to be a superpower in Olympics sports.

Its a great and simple movie.

Pannu flies like a rocket
sanjeevanwar19 October 2021
Anwar Says : For me , after Chak De , this is the best movie on sports and after Pink , this has the best courtroom scenes. Thanks to Akash Khurana, the director, Abhishek Banerjee, the lawyer and of course the lead , bold and beautiful Tapsee Pannu . Movie starts with the gender bias in sports and hyperandrogenism which confirms the high testosterone level, leads to ban for female athletes.

But the best part of the movie is that it features small and most important human relations , the sweet relationship of Rashmi with her mentor and husband played by Priyanshu Painyuli , her confronting but emotional relationship with omnipresent mother Supriya Pathak and her glass partner, the army doctor , played by Akash Khurana himself.

A story definitely inspired from the athletes like Dutee Chand and Caster Semenya , both fought battle against ban and won . The only part I found unrealistic is a pregnant woman running on a track, though not a bar , but it's too filmi . Courtroom arguments are in pure conversational mode and would sound interesting to the audience. Amit Trivedi has also chipped in some foot- tapping notes .

An out and out watchable movie. Rating is 7.5/10.

Typical fall n rise masala
coolrajkumar16 October 2021
Nothing new, overacting by Tapsee in a predictable drama film. First half is better but second half is a drag. You feel like...bus karo bhai! Few scenes from courtroom are okok but again very predictable and typical masala.

ayaanbhojani18 October 2021
Amazing film with such a great message conveyed,I jst dnt understand wts wrong with thz critics and also some of the very biased ppl thy always say they want content based films and when such a film comes thy start criticizing it jst bcz it has not so popular actors, really shame on them. Excellent performances of all actor's with the lawyer tapsee'z husband tapsee herself and supriya tapsee'z mom become highly show stealers...A must watch,I rate it a 7.7/10 stars 🍿🔥👌one of the best movie thz year.

Tapsi Pannu and Abhishek Mukherjee rock
srini-2769423 November 2021
Just finished watching Rashmi Rocket on Zee5. Seems like all the winners are from the ranks of people wearing black coats and black cloaks. When Tamil film Jai Bheem - albeit burdened with politicised controversies of casteism - is going great guns in India and, I am told all around the world - Rashmi Rocket comes, a not too distant second in the genre of court room thrillers. Of course Tapsi Pannu has done a wonderful job. Abhishek Mukherjee is very impressive as the lawyer appearing for the disqualified woman athelete, with subtle, bumbling and thundering appearances in the court. A superb entertainer, Director Akarsh Khurana has done a terrific job. The good guys are Major Gagan (Priyanshu Painvuli), Supriya Pathak etc. A crooked cop, a conspiring Indian Athletics association board member, a wily over confident lawyer etc play the baddies. Namita Dubey, is a baddie who suddenly finds the good side in her.🤔 A court room drama worth watching. IMDB has fairly awarded 7.7👏👏👏

Tapsee is good if you haven't seen her past film, but cliché otherwise
rohitgupta116 October 2021
Its a nice inspirational story, and Tapsee also looks fine. Infact she suites , but execution seems to have lost the track what director wants to show. Tapsee has same expression throughout film.

The comeback scene of
Sushant199422 October 2021
The comeback scene of Taapsee Pannu is phenomenal. It clearly states what a comeback to an athlete means and how he or she conquers the obstacles in style.

Sports is flavour of the season
srd-306599 December 2021
Five star for rasing a valid issue and promoting a cause otherwise moviewise an average one. The first half sags but if one overcomes tedium bravely and keeps on, then the court drama compensates.

Over-hyped - avoid
snehald-0395916 October 2021
As usual, film of Tapsee is over hyped by a specific segment of industry. Worst acting, worst script. Just avoid wastage of time and money. Messed up way of presenting in film. Social values are downgraded and tried to do it in a fancy manner.
