Zivas return was poorly executed in my opinion, and season 17 have taken a while to get going because of it.
This episode is entertaining. Yes, the storyline is a bit far fetched, but hey this is an american crime/drama show. You know what you get.
I liked Gibbs little side story, maybe we will se more of the characters "next door"? Mark Harmons performances can be a little one note (don´t know if it´s only because of the way the character is written or limited acting), so it´s good to see Gibbs express something else than looking skeptical.

Warning: Spoilers
Camryn Grimes getting a primetime guest spot was good to see, but it was certainly an interesting case this week as well.
This show may not be appointment viewing for many anymore, but it still relaxing TV to watch. Glad to see the writers still putting some effort in, which you can't say about every show.

Warning: Spoilers
The 17th season has not been very impressive so far with the last few episodes have been kind of disappointing. "Wide Awake" is an episode, which had an interesting concept, but at the end of the day feels a bit basic.
Let's start with the good aspects.
. The production values of "Wide Awake" are great. The episode is well-directed, liked the music and the performances.
. The story is fun for the most part. The jokes land better this time around. The setup for the mystery was intriguing, also enjoyed the introduction of Phineas.
But...
. The story dragged quite a bit at times and I did feel the team was running around in circles. The dialogue isn't always thought-provoking and comes off average- Brendan Fehily has done better. The solution as well felt as one has seen it a dozen times before.
Overall, a disappointment.
5/10 HK.
