The starting shots felt slow to me, as they are overly long, but: eventually I thought it must be the Director's choice to portray an 80's feeling, away from cellphones/social media madness. And the film soon kicks in with Jesús Ochoa's superb scene. The script is well crafted, the acting is quite good, and the northern accent is nothing but sweet. After so many film/tv show trips of "MEXICO IS A NARCO STATE", this sort of a prequel comes more handy, trying to understand the phenomenon, of a small society being taken over by greed. This being Yazpik's 1st Directing job, I'm sure great films will follow.
