Honestly . . . . . .
afineline13 February 2009
Good film. Presents the dilemma of how a woman should deal with the bad guy. A guy who has evil thoughts and deeds to lay upon females. The film shows the inability of a woman to defend herself with anything but a gun. This evil guy knows this and therefore wins every time. That is until he meets the business end of a snub nose thirty-eight. The presentation had a few flaws and I felt the lead actor should have been more sinister. I feel the character himself could've been a bit more Soprano, intimidating and wardrobe accordingly. All in all, it kept my interest as to what was going to happen. I thought the bad guy wetting his pants in the end was a fine touch, however the accosted woman was a bit too "Charlies Angel" styled. Not a great film but a good one. I wish you the best in future productions.

Softer Side of a Psycho

I found "The Bad Guy Speaks" to be very dark, eerie and yet entertaining with a slight comedic touch. The main character is clearly psychotic but yet has a touch of class for example setting the dining room table in a romantic setting with candles and roses, to dine with his victims before he disposes of them. Also he's an animal lover having a sweet fluffy cat as his pet.

I liked the lighting of the film, using warm tones for the light hearted aspects of the film and dark tones for the more serious gritty scenes of the movie.

All in all this is a great shot film, it gets you in the mood for Halloween.

I believe it could be a very useful warning to working women.

The transition in the opening was very good. I believe the main character was too young and should have been more evil looking. He didn't appear to be that threatening to me, and I definitely don't believe he would have served any time in prison. I wasn't sure if I could take him seriously. He actually was a distraction from the message, at least for me. The nude scene in the shower wasn't necessary, and it didn't make much sense. There was quite a bit of "dead air", with no sound and not much action in several scenes, needs to be tighter. The suggestion of an illegal weapon being purchased for protection is not very responsible, but the overall message conveyed in the film is good.

Disrespectful, distasteful, UGH!

Warning: Spoilers
Disturbing. Disrepectful. Degrading. And very disgusting towards women. What the hell is this? A how to attack women film? Do you really need to give all those idiots who surf the net looking for porn a how-to with regards to stalking women? I stumbled across this and just felt outrage - outrage that one would make and promote this piece of trash and use it to their advantage.

JUNK.

Thanks for helping our next generation of rapists.

I am not going to comment on the acting, lighting, direction, or anything of the sort. I felt violated by this material and couldn't believe someone actually made this. Try making porn.

Doesn't this all seem just a bit irresponsible?!
planktonrules1 February 2009
This is a very strange film and once it was over I was left with three possible reasons for the making of this film. One, it could have been made as a "snuff film"--for disturbed people to watch and enjoy as they see a violent sexual predator stalk his prey. Two, it was an endorsement to get a gun--hopefully an illegal handgun (according to the film). Third, it's a misguided attempt to warn women about the possibilities of rape and other violent crime in order to get them to become more responsible for watching out for creeps and following their instincts. Nah,...I really think it's the first one.

Reasonably well made, highly disturbing and seemingly made to PROMOTE rape, this is odd film that should have done less to glamorize and show violent crime (I didn't need to see him punching his one victim repeatedly) and more to offer real solutions other than to get a "Saturday Night Special".

How to defeat the bad guy.
Rsebrwr12 February 2009
This is a very scary but entertaining film. As a woman, I found the information from the bad guy useful. Other women should take his advice and use it. Thanks to the producer and writer for this enlightening and entertaining film. The earlier advice about how to protect myself from the bad guy is B.S. Take it from me, a former Air Force Senior Non Commissioned Officer. What I learned about self defense is exactly what this film shows. The actors and the direction were fine. I hope others enjoy this as much as I did. This film provides excellent guidance for self protection. Beware of too nice men in the elevator. Always carry your hand gun.

The script seems so real and scares the heck out of you
tgoldberg-217 February 2009
Well written film script scares the heck out of you. Watching the film unfold as it builds up the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The film is so real that it does not need the props or special effects to scare you. It seems so real that you believe it can happen to you at any time and at any place. The script is magnificent which makes the film go from one scary scene to the next barely with enough time to catch your breath before it starts all over again building to a climax. This is a real roller coaster ride with the turns, twists and speed that hurls you down the track. Getting into an elevator will never bee the same from now on.

This is a short film depicting how the bad guy attempts to have his way with unsuspecting females.
carolraerez9 February 2009
This short film grabbed my interest from the opening scene and I was enthralled with the direction of this film. I generally do not like to view violence but this film was one of the more tastefully done in this genre. The continuity and the performances were outstanding. The director has a wonderful talent for choosing a fine cast and showing a realistic situation in a dramatic manner. I was not certain how it was going to end and I was sitting on the edge of my seat and, WOW, what a tremendous finish to a great thriller short. Being a woman, I have always realized that my gender requires careful attention to self defense. And this film showed this to the max. I have viewed many short and feature films and believe that this director has the talent to reach the stars.

Controversial!
producer-a10 July 2009
This is a very controversial piece. The story revolves around a bizarre guy (called Bad Guy) who talks to the viewers (female viewers) and tells them about pros and cons of stalking, raping, and - SELF-DEFENSE! The film depicts large amount of violence, degradation, sexual assault... Despite all of it, the film is very entertaining and funny! It's a black humor, absurdity, and it carries a lot of Kubrickian elements of "noir" film-making ("The Clockwork Orange" would be a prime example). This concept always polarizes the audience: some people will hate the film, and others will love it. I've seen this film at the local festival, with a mixed audience (males, females, young, old), and the response was mixed as well, but my impression is that most of the female audience loved it. They thought that the film doesn't intend to degrade women and promote violence, but instead it shows the dangers of modern urban world, filled with sick individuals and the real-world violent behavior. "The Bad Guy Speaks" is an interesting and very controversial short film that will raise the eyebrows of many film critics.
