Don't Underestimate Abagail
shelbythuylinh17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Really you should never underestimate Abagail Fix as she was left behind for her safety by mainly Fogg and a reluctant Passepartout.

Fogg is a sexist and really wished Fix would had decked him for leaving her there. Never underestimate her. As she is one determined lady. Ouch! Fix is trying to make it in a man's world.

She meets Jane Digby an disgraced Englishwoman has a beef with Fix's father and her father is not the man that she grew up with but really was a cowardly wimp.

Then Fix begins to doubt her own father. We see Abagail character development and in the first and second part we deal with Passepartout's leaving Europe and France and due to bigotry and jerky racists.

Pretty Good with New Characters
Hitchcoc2 February 2022
Fogg continues to be an ass, falling back on his stiff upper lip upbringing. He still treats Passepartout as a servant, even though they have been through thick and thin. Fogg would be dead now and he still pulls that upper crust crap. We meet Jan Digby who is a maligned woman who had felt the scars of a vicious article written by Fix's father.

Just keeps getting better!

Difficult to think of new ways to phrase it; this is a FANTASTIC series, lush and cinematic, with top-notch performances all around and expert crafting from the set, cgi and costume departments. Lindsay Duncan's Jane Digby and Faicel Elkihel's Sheik Medjuel are welcome additions who I am hoping we see again; their stateliness and quiet affection for one another are a calming cool breeze in the midst of the danger and emotional angst of episode three.

This is a series you watch with your phone off, your lights low, and your mind open.

Episode 3
Prismark105 January 2022
The third episode sees the Fogg, Passepartout and Fix cross Italy to Yemen where they are stranded.

Fogg conspires to leave Fix behind as he goes for a dangerous desert crossing.

Fix gets help from Jane Digby, a disgraced Englishwoman who was libelled by Fix's father.

It is Digby and her Arab husband who ends up rescuing Fogg and Passepartout.

Fix finds that her father was a drunken swine when he was a journalist meant to be covering wars.

As for Fogg, he shows his failings as a traveller when he tries to be an unflappable Brit. It is only when he is filled with self doubt about his shortcomings when he can rise to the occasion. This Fogg is a bit horrid.

It is Passepartout who is the audience identification figure. He probably is bemused that Fogg is going through all this hassle just for a bet.

In this episode he is made an offer by one of Bellamy's goons to undermine Fogg.
