Batman of the 60's revisited.
bostonyooper9 March 2020
Watching this episode reminded me of my childhood watching Adam West as Batman. The evil henchmen dressed in black and the good guys getting into a fight as the evil villain tries to make world geniuses to make a super weapon.

The only thing missing was the words "POW" "ZAPPO" etc during the fight scene.

corny and cheesy but fun to watch

It was enjoyable. If you don't take it too seriously.

Hopefully, a new hat

Warning: Spoilers
Murdock loses his hat getting on the balloon but it is, unfortunately, recovered immediately. This likely dashes any future hopes of his getting one that actually fits.

Fun episode but ridiculous execution

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler- - - - This was a fun episode and everything was great with all the historical inventors.

But it was absolutely ridiculous that at the end when all of them escape and they 4 cops have the bad guys guns. Ogden comes out last and then the pens rick wife comes out behind her pointing a gun at ogden's head with her full body exposed. What do the cops do? nothing. anyone of them could have said drop the gun we have four guns on you. Anyone of them could have easily shot her. Then the inarmed henchmen come and take the guns away. The same ones that got beat up earlier when they were armed. How is that even an option for 4 cops to have a full body shot and put numbered one person to give up their guns. Ogden wasn't even being held in front of the pendrick wife like a hostage. They could have easily made it more believable. RIDICULOUS

Peak Murdock

This episode is a perfect example of why I love this show. Major campiness, the collection of historical figures, Crabtree finally being acknowledged for his vision by Einstein, Brackenreid lacking vision but still getting the job done. Tons of fun. I was hoping Higgins would sell "his" rearview mirror invention and be able to help his and Ruth's finances, but it was not to be. The only downer was Murdock's speech at the end about technology bringing enlightenment and peace. I know the writers wer trying to emphasize Murdock and the show's overall optimism, but it really just jerks the viewer back into our crappy reality. A sour note to end on.

Enjoyable, but somehow disappointing also.

Warning: Spoilers
Ever since Mrs. Pendrick was revealed as the real villain more than 10 seasons ago and then escaped, I was waiting when she would made her re-appearance.

The plot to have her kidnapping the most brilliant minds of the world becomes her - one of the few persons to have tricked Murdoch in the series.

However, the Mrs Pendrick in the first series was a multi-dimensional villain, changing facets all the time (sweet, deductive, emotional, intellectual, etc). Her re-emergence is more like a one-dimensional ruthless villain. I believe the script writers wrote this episode in a hurry.

To be fair, though, the portrayal of the real life geniuses and their interactions with the cast was enjoyable enough as to make the episode a good one.

PS: What happened to Mr. Pendrick?
