I love all the characters especially, Astha and Peepli's husband but at the same time I was expecting more from this series.
In last three episodes, I was fast forwarding the episode. So, I can reach to the end.
Slow, and it doesn't need this much of episodes.
But overall I loved it.

Different story but very poor direction

Great acting and cinematography. Fails at doing justice to plot

Warning: Spoilers
Firstly, a thunderous applause for Ridhi Dogra on her performance as Astha, the main protagonist. She deserves recognition and accolades for such a convincing and moving performance. The cinematography and music scores of this series also deserve their own accolades.
However, the story fails to hold true to itself at the end. I refuse to believe that the writers of the show intended to end the story the way they did. The show starts with the premise of exploring individuality, sexuality, free will and love beyond the borders of religion, social conventions, gender and ends by reinforcing the very stereotypes it promised to challenge.
My issue is not that Astha made a choice I didn't want her to make. But to justify that choice the writers forcefully assassinated Peeplikas character, motivation and nature which it had built up for 10 episodes. Astha's journey to find herself ends up with her realising that she is better off being a housewife to a man that will never see her for more than being Mrs. Kapoor, the wife of a businessman, mother to his children, a so so host and such. A husband who insists she is lucky to have him because he does not drink and abuse her, and does not bring home his sexual exploits and allows her to have sex with him on a schedule.
The moral of the story is never trust a modern woman who is aware of her sexuality and open about it, especially if she is the kind to run away and elope with a Muslim man.

I started The Married Woman not thinking I would finish it..BUT i did, all at one stretch and the reason was the performances and unusual storyline. The layers are a cinematic brilliance.
Ridhi is one of the finest, most brilliant, subtle yet powerful actors! I am not sure her performance got it's due, but it's worthy of standing ovations for generations to come.
I have never been compelled to write to any movie review applauding them for their work, but I couldn't help but let share this.

Amazing chemistry, worth a watch!

The chemistry between the leads is very good. There are some flaws, the communal tensions highlighted well but at times feel like something running parallel to the story of astha and peeplika, with not much connect to their journey, especially after the 3rd episode.
But the actors have done a splendid job, would've liked to have seen more of Peeplika's family. We all need a Peeplika in our lives and all Peeplikas of the world need an Astha.
The chemistry of Monica and Ridhi make up for any complaints.
Fingers crossed for a season 2.
Very slow and boring ...

Round and round
sameerlodaya9 March 2021
The series is just going round and round on one subject
The makers made 11 episodes on a small subject of a women loneliness and she was wondering here and there for some company
Ridhi and Monica played their characters well but at a point of time you will feel bored and dragged that only thing is going on and when will this end
The series needed a good edit ,some pace in the episodes ,some good emotional touch, and some additional story
Too slow and lousy

I like the way that tell the story. The roles of peeplika and astha is well established. But in my point of view that the reason astha leave peeplika is not convinsable. Astha started to be with her also she leave her alone at the end. The story was good the way they played is good every thing is good at my sence. But i feel the climax may be better than this. If she astha can forgive her husband then why she cant forgive peeplika🤔
Another propaganda for seculars

This webseries is made so that the insecure community looks great and other in dark. The secular cool dude is educated, well manner, speak in English. Wao...
NONSENSE. You wipe out minority where u r majority.
I am really surprise why there is no director which show the real face of society.

Simple,classy,sophisticated,elegant show

Wow this show is going to hold special place in my heart
I was crying bcoz of Ridhi and Monica's acting is so phenomenal
I felt their pain it was so raw and real never felted like it was just an acting.
Story line is so simple no unnecessary drama or plot created to make it more masala full or mainstream.Songs are soulful.
But please please to the married woman team kindly make another season bcoz the ending is not the end it is was just a beginning of something beautiful. so we have to go on a another ride with astha and pipilika
Maybe its time to change!

Warning: Spoilers
The series was beautiful up until the end. The cast was chosen perfectly. Acting was top notch.
But I think the ending could've been much much better. The protagonist (Spoiler Alert!) chooses to be with someone who treats her like an object. She chooses to be with her husband after all he said and did. She chose to be with a family that treated her like a maid. She chose to with a man who has disgusting thoughts about homosexuality. She chose to be with a man who insulted her life her parents. And she left the woman who just wanted to treat her like a queen or if minus the exaggeration, she left the woman who wanted to make their dreams, reality. Yes the woman (peeplika) made a mistake but all that was because she was helpless and she didn't want to lose her lover. But our married woman was no less. She made mistakes too. Her lover was not her top priority. But they still managed to be together through all that. Yet the married woman decided to choose heterosexuality so that her kids don't grow to hate her. So she doesn't get manipulated further. Well she won't get manipulated any further but she'll live like a zombie.
In my perspective, this just proves that homosexuality will always be projected as a mistake. Its time that we portray that relationships beyond the "societal norms" as they call it, get accepted too! For love is love! It is important that series related to homosexuality or lgbtqia+ have endings that inspire us and teach the orthodox and conservative people that love is between two people and gender isn't significant when it comes to it!
This series just compels its viewers to believe that no matter what, the woman is always gonna end up under the dominance of a man and his family. She cannot make a decision to live her life the way she wants. This series could have had multiple endings and it wasn't necessary for the female protagonist to end up with either of the love interest. But she did, proving that the glass ceiling couldn't break.
This seemed a little against the lgbtq+ and female rights. Storyline was indeed amazing. Wonderfully written. But the ending could've been in the lgbtq+ community's or women's rights' favour.

Slow slow.slow
preetitirkey9 April 2021
It's painstakingly slow. The performances are strong but the story lien is so dead. You can make a guess every next step about what is going to happen. And why independent women have to be shown as promiscuous and alcoholics? A bit overbearing.
Boring, repulsive and time waste
sayedmuhammadmusa19 July 2022
Useless subject,boring and worthless.
Same boring subject of women lonliness and her need for any kind of company with any gender. No interesting story. Same thing again and again. Did not the subject and relationship. Big Dislike from me.

Titillation
pinakvyas-540881 June 2022
The reviews here are mostly fake by ekta Kapoor's team ,, the show is pure Titillation,
And has no connection to the society,
Feminism doesn't mean repeating the same mistakes men have done,
If the family or man mistreats you ,, you should raise. Voice
But putting your lust before your kids,,, moving out with a roadside artist who just spreads her legs easily ,,, is it women empowerment ?
Don't normalise vulgarity in society ,,,

Worst show...

Waisted my time on this.
You can see what's in the mind of directors and producer. Targeting a particular society that see how they are trapped in their life.
Freedom k naam per kuchh bhi show me dikha dete hai... Jo life hame suggest ki ja rahi wo jab tak young hai tabhi tak achhi lagegi...Who knows what will b the future after that... And they want the same thing.
