Laughing Under the Clouds Gaiden Part 2 (2018) is a movie I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows two twins being raised to be ninja assassins by their parents. Their parents gave them distinct values and beliefs and as they whiteness the ways of their ninja clan they believe it needs to evolve and the current master is too harsh and outdated. The brothers will have to put their lives on the line and maybe even fight their master if there's any hope for change...
This movie is codirected by Terri Doty (Baka and Test) and Tetsuya Wakano (Attack on Titan) and contains the voices of Tia Lynn Ballard (Fairy Tail), Charles C. Campbell (Dragon Ball Z), Colleen Clinkenbeard (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Jason Douglas (Preacher).
This movie is outstanding and so much better than the first one. The opening scene with the assassin followed by the rescue was so good. There is a scene with the mother on a cliff that is unbelievable and the final battle is excellent. This movie also uses colors way better than the first film. I adored the coming of age elements of this picture and the resourcefulness both in strength and emotion of the siblings.
Overall this is a tremendous picture and an underrated anime masterpiece. I would consider this a must see and score it a 9/10.
