Wonderful Documentary on the Origins of the Bible
slawking21 March 2008
This multi-part series was produced several years ago, but thoughtfully approaches how the Bible we know today was written. It approaches its subject matter historically, including as many basis for archaeological and other facts as possible. Thus it tells of the origins of the Bible from its earliest days as the Torah, to later incarnations and assemblages in Greek, then Latin, and into the common versions used today. John Romer is an excellent narrator for this intriguing subject matter. He is probably the best known television archaeologist and presenter of ancient history. His trademark style combines gentle humor, expertise and respect for ancient peoples and he is perhaps best known for his Indiana Jones-style large sun hat. This series is well worth seeking out, finding and enjoying.
