JUST FOR FANS OF KUNG-FU CRAZE FROM 70'S
deluca.lorenzo@libero.it30 December 2020
The tidal wave generated by Bruce Lee in 1973, caused a wild bunch of martial actioners of all kinds made in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This one was of the modern crime-type, very similar to (but less effective than) Chang Cheh's The Delinquent. There's a plenty of action and some interest in depicting a troubled youngster instead of a typical stoned-face Kung-Fu hero, even if actor Charlie Chin was more a matinee-idol in sentimental dramas than a credible fighter for Kung-Fu adventures. Anyway the presence of genre's regular badguy James Nam injects some life in this heroically-dying-youngster drama. The chinese title Zui Sha means Drunken Cavalier. Alot of stunt bikers, if you like that stuff.
