Hard truths that will inevitably irritate some of even John Oliver's presumably progressive audience that don't want to admit our participation in such a hurtful system.

In response to another reviewer: I think the show covered an amazing range of the issues and captured the weight of the US's legacy of racism and inequitable policing. I thought the final piece was especially powerful. The social contract has been broken. For me, what she expressed helped me appreciate why the looting happens and how it's more complicated than it appears (it's not simply opportunism) and can't be used to dismiss, or even deminish, the movement. The disenfranchisement and the anger that the looting represents is real and the actions are understandable and, frankly, justified. It's a message that needs to be heard.

John Oliver does manage to raise some good points during this episode, but it felt a little bit biased to try and justify the looting of the stores. It could've been great if he was able to explain the whole picture rather than disregarding certain events or justifying certain actions to push the narative

Too bias. Disappointed

Last Week Tonight is always bias but normally I trust most of the facts presented. This episode was very bias against the police. Not one time did John Oliver mention the good police do or how important their role is. He spent no time on the issues that lead to institutional racism. Over the last few years John Oliver has broaden my view of politics and social issues. I'm a republican watching a liberal show but I trusted his content. I'm disappointed in this episode and now find myself wondering if Last Week Tonight is just is another agenda driven, narrow minded Fox and Friends or CNN with some comedy.
