Another Thursday at County (#15.2)

Warning: Spoilers
This episode gives one a bad feeling about what this final season may end up being like. Of course now that Dr. Pratt is gone they had to introduce new characters. And I am really not impressed. The new chief is very unpleasant. And I didn't even like the actress. She just seems to keep a bitchy face expressions, this is as far as she goes. Seems that such a nasty character is a bad idea for last season as we don't have enough time to start to like her.

Neela hooking up with Simon is also vomit provoking. Oh yeah, Neela who gets every guy in the show fall in love with her. And he was so nasty to the other woman he slept with, but not with Neela because Neela is so special and gets to be the nasty one instead. They should have killed her off instead of Dr. Pratt.

Warning: Spoilers
This particular episode not terrible, but it's just another example of how ER is moving away from well-well developed characters who deal with their lives in each episode. It isn't poorly put together, but the entire first part of the episode introduces a bunch of new characters in a cliché way and gives each of them an easy-to-remember label. The ambitious one, the sarcastic one, the pretty one, the tough but wounded boss... Lately it seems that instead of trying to use relationship drama the way Grey's Anatomy does, they've just given up and tried to start over with an episode like the first from that show. Anyway, I came to IMDb to point out, and this seems to be the only way, that there's a pretty blatant and easy-to-confirm mistake in the dialogue. A character states that his wife was killed on 9/11 in a building by the Pentagon, but there were no buildings by the Pentagon hit on 9/11.

Are you kidding me?! Angry black man out, strong black woman in. Enough is enough.

I'm done.

I'll be skipping to the final episodes when the old characters return to say their goodbyes and pay homage to their days when they were part of the greatest drama of the generation. I will not watch this crapfest wherein Angela Bassett embarrasses herself playing a cliched and copycat character as a black Kerry Weaver and John Stamos ponces around trying desperately to act like a wise cracking, womanizing, badass. It's nauseating on so many levels.
