Aniksha

It's a story about a woman named Aniksha giving with her husband in Mauritius island. Aniksha tries her best to give her life the way she wants, she wants to be independent, she wants to be free and she doesn't seem to love hes husband much. I'm not sure if I would see any films set in Mauritius besides this one right here.

Amazing Short.

Just saw this online at VIFF. The short has everything one would want in a short, hopes , dreams , lust, despair. Beautifal lead actress is stuck between the old and the new in charming Maurituis Island. Her life has the compexities of all modern life rife with exploitation and choices. Really enjoyed this artful progressive film.

Warning: Spoilers
A correct crafted short film. In essence, a sketch, well acted - the portrait of Aniksha proposed by Neeshi Beeharry is touching, convincing and gentle , offering fair perspective about sensitive subjects - from the imposed marriage to the curiosity about life of a young woman, from cultural clash to refuges and fascinating boss , so different by the silhoutte of man proposed by Indo- mauritan culture.

A film in which image has not only aesthetic value but becomes a support to reflection about dreams, decisions, desires and self definition and the early morning walk of Anikshi, the dialogue, imaginary, presumed with her husband, the meet with the workers are just fundamental good points, offering to this short film beautiful charme, inspired force.
