I'm liking the first episodes, but they make it to easy
WinterEcho12 February 2021
So far I like it and the whole concept. I'm in the 3rd episode now and my one complaint is it seems the show keeps bailing them out giving them what they need. I think it would have been much more compelling just leaving them there without constantly giving them the tools, the supplies and even a bridge builder every time they get behind. It's still only episode 3. I'd rather a more man vs nature and learn to survive on your own type thing.

Obviously the whole thing is rigged

Warning: Spoilers
This review is mostly for the first season:

Over the years I've watched so many different types of reality game shows but I've never seen one as obviously rigged as this one. It's so blindingly obvious that it hurts.

Basically our team is supposed to build a 800 feet bridge to get to an island in order to receive a monetary reward in 20 days. In order to be successful, the team is supposed to build an average of 40 feet per day. Well, by the end of 16th day, they had built only 400 feet of bridge and now they had only 4 days to build the remaining 400 feet. Not only that but on day 17th, the whole thing snaps in half so now they have to repair the snapped bridge in addition to build the remaining 50% of the bridge in 3 days.

What happens at the end? Yep, you guessed it right. They finish the bridge literally in the last hour. They were able to build as much bridge in the last 3 days as they were able to build in the first 17 days plus repair the half of the bridge that snapped off.

This is what the cameras show you but obviously that's not what happened in reality. It's blindingly obvious that the show's producers didn't want to show a team failing in their first season so they just went ahead and built the whole thing behind the scenes.

You are not going to convince me that a team that can build 400 feet of bridge in 17 days can build another 400 feet in 3 days in addition to fixing the parts that broke and snapped the day before. It's an insult to viewers' intelligence.

A fun and entertaining little reality show 👍

I just binge watched the first season and found it very satisfying and entertaining. I liked the fresh idea and location set up. The cast was a good fit for the show and it is fun to see how everyone wants to play the game. Interesting character dynamics develop over the 20 days and I found myself rooting for serval players.

It was amazing to see how much damage a lie can cause.

I was wondering if I was in their shoes what could be done to win the game? The problem is there are too many players left at the end of the game. Unfortunately there can only be one official winner but it takes a group effort to build the 800 foot bridge.

Maybe season two will address this problem. It has two teams going for a bigger prize.
