Love Quinn-Goldberg

Warning: Spoilers
Wow. Can we just take a moment of out life to appreciate the amazing acting of Victoria Pedretti?

Unfortunately, her story has ended. And i don't believe any actress will make a greater appearance in season 4.

Me, as fan of this show since the day Netflix aired it, nothing surprised me more than the death of Love. As she was the one who matched the vibe with him.

By the ending of this episode and the season itself things made me feel like it was an ending of the whole show, not like the previous seasons. I actually believe it was a good season of You.

1 question in mind, where does the series go from here? We'll have to wait to find out!.

This Finale was Straight Up Insanity
Splarke2216 October 2021
After a season that I consider weaker than the first two, this finale ended on an absolute bang. I think 3x10 made up for season 3 as a whole being a bit meh compared to prior seasons, even though I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Season 4 looks like it'll be good & a lot different, I also have a feeling it'll be the final season.

Can't wait for season 4
FilmBuff040915 October 2021
Wow!!! Season two was not my favorite but this season brought it all back and then shot it way up into space. It is so crazy and melodramatic that you just can't take your eyes off the tv. I watched this entire season in one sitting, I just couldn't resist. Best season yet and by the looks of it season four will be even more of a wild ride.

Disapointed but loved it anyway

Warning: Spoilers
This season was as good as I hoped, maybe even better. You remains to be one of my favourite shows, super excited for the next season. Even though I feel it's such a shame we had to say goodbye to Love, I absoulutely fell in love with an actress and the character. Compared to her both of Joe's obsessions in the season seemed really bland. Especialy Natalie, couldn't stand her and didn't care for her death (unlike Delilah in season 2 or even Beck in season 1). As for Mariane loved the actress, but also didn't quite care for the character. Really hope she's not gonna have major role in season 4. I guess my favourite part of the season was Joe and Love's team, them working together on their crimes and mariage. So I am quite disapointed about the ending, really hoped they are gonna work with murderous family now. But in general the story was good and intresting, got wrapped up well. I am very curious about where they are gonna take the show now, my expactaitions are very high after this season. Also had a guess that next season would be situated in Europe so exited about that as well. Can't wait to see what awaits for Joe in Paris!

A great finale to a pretty good season
Dannyboi9420 October 2021
Season 3 of YOU has been so dam entertaining, it has been chaotic, funny, intense and has some nice twists and turns in there too. It has definitely kept up with the standards of the previous seasons, even though 3, feels a bit more contained than 1 and 2.

I enjoyed how Joe and Love's relationship is a complete mess, and ends horribly, as it should for people like them. But season 3 does this very well. Penn and Victoria, play so well off each other and their on-screen chemistry is outstanding. You believe that they both love and want to kill each other. The added side characters are all engaging and fascinating to watch, aside from Matthew, played by Scott Speedman. I felt like his character was underwhelming, and added little to the story. It was a shame, because Scott is a great actor.

I liked how season 3 didn't play the whole COVID storyline so many TV shows have been doing lately, it is almost ignored here. Which is great. This season also dumbed down on all the PC stuff the previous seasons had too. This season just focused on chaos and the insanity of two maniac serial killers, and it worked well.

Overall, season 3 has been a blast in the typical YOU manner. It's over the top, sometimes a bit cringy (in a good way) and just downright entertaining. I'm looking forward to season 4.

A tension filled ride from beginning to end
RahulM00717 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Insanity is doing the same thing over & over again and expecting different results.

The third season of "YOU" is right on par with the previous seasons. It had a bunch of shocking twists and turns which weren't at all what I was expecting. Each new revelation or development had me literally screaming in anger, happiness, or rage. I wanted to throw a fit, smash something or log out of Netflix during my watch of the third season. My season 3 predictions were quickly subverted, and this further emphasises the hard work of the writers of crafting a juicy, rich, and impeccable script with clever plot twists.

Joe Goldberg, the most lovable and relatable serial killer/stalker returns with a new set of problems that he inadvertently creates with his soulmate Love Quinn. No matter what happens I will always root for Joe. While I am heartbroken that Victoria Pedretti is not returning for the fourth season, I'm still intrigued to find out who Joe's next obsession will be. I highly doubt that it will be Marienne.

The third season opens with Joe and Love welcoming their new-born baby boy Henry into the world. They quickly settle down in their new suburban lives, yet things get out of hand and dark sooner than expected. Joe's fantasy about the perfect life with his soulmate takes a detour, and soon falls for the next-door neighbour. All newlyweds experience rough patches in their first year of marriage, and that's especially the case for Joe and Love. Joe and Love are married and have a child together, yet don't trust each other. Joe can't trust, Love can't be trusted and vice versa. This enticing and exhilarating season has just the right amount of irony, hypocrisy, levity, grittiness, and dark humour in it.

The new characters introduced this season were mostly likeable and have different personalities. Marienne became my least favourite character of the entire series. She is excruciatingly annoying. Marienne must be Joe's worst love interest, and I hope she'll not return in the fourth season.

The third season takes place in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The writers and producers handled it well and even schooled and annihilated anti-vaxxers. The moment when Love bashed Gil aka the anti vaxxer in the head after finding out that her child got measles from his twins was incredibly cathartic. Violence isn't always the answer, but it was a hundred percent appropriate in this situation. He literally deserved it.

The eighth episode where Joe persuades Love to engage in a foursome with Sherry and Cary was one of the strangest parts of the season. There is a level of suspension of disbelief involved when watching this series. Whenever the audience hears Joe's narration, his surroundings become silent.

The finale had one of the most gruesome twists of the entire series. After finding out that Joe is obsessed with yet another woman Marienne, Love decides to paralyse Joe using a paralytic called Wolfsbane. Joe is one step ahead and manages to inject Love with the same paralytic but of a much higher dosage. While Love is paralysed, Joe decides to write Love's suicide note where she confesses everything. The scene where Joe cuts off two of his toes is revolting. Joe puts his toe in a chicken pot pie and cranks up the oven at the highest possible level. He puts his other toe in a box with the rest of the evidence. Joe goes to great lengths to frame Love for his murder and to cover up Love's unfortunate demise. He burns down the house and moves to Paris in search for his new obsession aka victim aka "YOU."

To conclude, the third season further exemplified Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti's unmatched chemistry together. Both actors gave a show stopping and Emmy worthy performance. The 2018 series "YOU" is the definition of bingeworthy television. It keeps you on the edge of the seat and may leave you utterly speechless and flabbergasted. While I'll miss Victoria Pedretti's portrayal of Love Quinn, I'm enthused to see how Joe Goldberg's story will continue post-Love Quinn.

Side note: The trailers for each season always have the best soundtrack, perhaps even better than the main soundtrack.

Final verdict: 9.5/10

Ranking the three seasons:

1. Season 2 (9.3/10) 2. Season 3 (8.9/10) 3. Season 1 (8.5/10)

[7.6] Victoria Pedretti is the real star
cjonesas5 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Looking at the final episode impartially, it doesn't feel right and realistic. It had the feel of Dexter. Joe is no Dexter and never will be. So, after his mumbo jumbo planning at his house, making it VacaBoom, getting out of the country! And wandering in the streets of Paris just doesn't seem and feel right, to say the least.

Joe, of all countries, what are you doing in the city of Love?! You would better fit in a frozen country with your frozen heart of yours.

The episode was just better than the others, which is a shame. Season 3's two or three good episodes out of ten is not a bright statistic. Writers, please take note! Remember seasons 1 and 2!

A dear thought for Love... Even in this weak season, you managed to shine, though a little more psycho in your cells. Hope you are alive against all odds and season 4 would be yours, pushing Joe aside and becoming the sole black queen of the possibly last season.

Solid ending

Warning: Spoilers
Good finale, better than the whole season. I half-expected a twist where Joe gets killed and Love becomes the new protagonist because of that one episode where she was monologuing. Sad to see the amazing Victoria Pedretti go, she was perfect as Love.

It's a really good finale
jpismyname19 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's not the best finale ever, but I really like it. Surprisingly, I'm rooting for Joe now. In the past seasons, I hate him so much and just want him to like get murdered or get caught or something. But now it's like I just wanted him to get a fresh start with Marienne for the sake of his baby. Too bad that didn't happen.

Too bad Victoria Pedretti has to go. She's a really amazing actress and she should win an Emmy. I hate her character Love though, I mean I'm glad Love is dead because she's very selfish and almost all the bad things that happened in season 3 is her fault. But I'm still sad. Mixed emotions.

Maybe Love is alive? She survived or something? Hmm but this isn't a telenovela though.

Excited for season 4. Hope we can see Marienne again. And will there be a next "You"?

Season 3 was worse than S2 & S1 ... ending saves it
arohyadav15 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Show felt boring in many episodes. Too predictable. Ending was fantastic many people didn't expect love to be dead. Joe is international now . The writing wasn't as good as previous seasons . Also there were many loop holes in stories. Hopefully they write better next season and conclude the show and stop dragging it . I think they should have ended the show in season 3.

Peak television
janretzlaff20 October 2021
YOU did it again! Slow start to each season but somehow the show manages to peak perfectly in the last two episodes, just like in the two seasons prior. This last episode is one of the best tv show episodes in any series I have watched, you pretty much have goosebumps all the way through. What makes it even more special is the incredible acting performances by our 2 main characters. This one is a 10/10!

Season Three Review
southdavid8 December 2021
I really enjoyed the first season of "You" but was concerned that the second might struggle to thread the needle again. It just about did, but this third season almost feels like a different show and I'm not sure I bought the concessions to the returning plot points as much as I have previously.

Now resettled to the suburbs, Joe (Penn Badgley), Love (Victoria Pedretti) and their new baby are settling into domestic bliss. Pressured into this turn of events, Joe has already set his obsessive gaze on his neighbour Natalie (Michela McManus) but Love, who is wise to the way that Joe's mind works, is willing to do anything to keep the family unit together.

It's not that I didn't enjoy this series, I did. I like the humour in Joe's commentary on 21st century suburbia - all Instagram perfect lives, hiding the same fears and foibles that have always been there. I think the performances are good and I liked seeing Love and Joe as a couple, fixing their issues as only they know how.

I'm not sure it's the same show though. The first season was about a stalker, whom you could almost root for before the occasional and visceral reminder that, despite his past, Joe is the villain of the story. The show this season is about two people who essentially slaughter their way past any problem that comes their way. Returning plot points, such as the second return for the see-through cell in the basement (literally the Death Star of the series) seem more contrived and unnecessary. The credulity was stretched, for me, beyond breaking point in the finale though with a number of plot holes that the show didn't bother to explain.

That said, the positives still outweigh the negatives and I'll be back for season four next year.

It goes to the beggining again with a bad pattern
carlosfrodg1 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
With Joe killing Love, I don't like how the tv show went back again to the beggining. I think that it would've been more interesting seeing more screen of this psycho couple but with their relationship good, which means they in good terms just going for blood. It was a let down, Love character was the best one from the show honestly.

Good finish for an interesting season
Kingslaay15 December 2021
Season 3 started off with a bang. I couldn't believe the first episode ended that way. Also the other quick killing and cover ups made it a strong start. The middle of the season was average. Suddenly Joe is attracted to Marienne? It looked like flimsy writing. He quickly went from Natalie to Marienne. We can tell Joe is after the chase and likes being obsessive, that drives him. A strong end however to the season. I feel the writers do actually have strong potential so I hope they go for quality over quantity and try not to stretch it out. I will tune in happily for Season 4.

Season 3 review: 8/10
goat-040542 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This season was weaker than the first two in my opinion. This season had the same vibe as the others but it was just less interesting because the story feels dragged out over 10 episodes. This season could have been 6 episodes and that would have been better paced I think.

About this last episode, it was good but the fact that Joe played that he was paralysed was only there to shock the audience. Why would he still play paralysed if Marienne was literally in danger when she came over to his house? A bit stupid, but overall good finale.

This is entertainment
andrewkempf20 October 2021
Why do we watch TV shows or television in general? To be entertained. Ladies and Gentleman, this is first class entertainment right here. Holy mother of god, from the moment this episode began to end I was glued in. Joe Goldberg and Love Quinn are the craziest, most psycho duo I have ever seen in the history of television. The conversations among people who have watched this show will top any other TV based conversations, simply due to the debate of who is more horrible of a character between Joe and Love. What a show this is, and I cannot wait for a season 4 to see more of Joe Goldberg. Holy crap.

'You' can't outwit Joe Goldberg
Anonymous_Knight16 October 2021
The rest of season was not on par with the season 1 (Season 1 with Guinevere Beck is still the best). But this episode proved why Joe Goldberg is best at what he does. He always have a solution, You can't outsmart him. I can't wait for season 4.

No Love No You
thaatmoment18 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Dear, Netflix, writers.. Please, BRING BACK LOVE for Season 4!!

Victoria Pedretti was the best!

In my opinion she was the one who carried and kept interesting these 2 seasons of You.

I loved her character very much!

It wasn't fair to kill her of like that and take a blame for everything..

Without Love there's no You!

Plotholes, inconsistencies and lazy writing.
liesl202031 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So we can hear Joe's thoughts and he's thinking that this is the end for him? Then suddenly we are shown that actually this was his plan all along.

How could he possibly have predicted that the neighbour would come over and see him, thus verifying his story.

Didn't the authorities wonder when Joe had time to drop off his baby since he was supposed to be tied up, baked into a pie and murdered by Love?

How dod he get out of the country when he's supposed to be dead?

How did joe get away from the burning house with 2 missing toes? He couldn't have run very far.

The list goes on. This season was badly and lazily written. They made Loves character so ridiculous and impulsive. I hope they manage to salvage season 4.

Good Episode but no Love than no "YOU."
zaryabahsan-7242221 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This season in my opinion was extremely well written. It was true, brutal and honest. It shows love doesn't stay pink always it can turn black too. It doesn't just talk about marriage or a relationship but shows the real work that goes beneath the two. The anger, the discomfort, the depression, the possessiveness, the insecurities, the cheating, the lost spark, the expectations, the betrayal. It just potrayes everything stunningly. There are no happy endings in real life and can never be. But somehow I don't think so any lady can be as interesting as LOVE So not much looking forward to s04.
