I think this comedy was too soft on automated "help" lines!

This is a very funny short film than every person out there can relate to and will take perverse satisfaction at its conclusion. It's about a guy calling for customer service from some company (I'd assume Dell based on how helpful they were in the film). Instead of helping, they kept him saying numbers out loud again and again to be directed to the correct department--and naturally the "intelligent" system couldn't understand anything he said!! Then, after a hellish time doing this, he's placed on hold--seemingly forever. In the end, the machine cuts him off--all during which time there were tons of distractions occurring outside his office.

What made all of this so funny was not just its universality but as the man got more and more frustrated, the narrator described what was going on inside the guy in a very detached and clinical way--like a person narrating a nature documentary or a film on the history of cheese making! Additionally, after being pushed well past the breaking point, our hero (as the narrator refers to him) snaps and does some very naughty things (most of which you don't actually see but most of which you, too, have thought about doing to customer "service" representatives!!).

Very timely. Too bad the worst companies (like Dell) don't seem to care and people KEEP buying their products even though they have total contempt for the customer.
