Poison, religion, greed and love

Warning: Spoilers
I found this episode kind of depressing.

A young Jewish man dies at a prayer gathering with other men. He reads from a book that is not accepted by the Jewish men. So those who talk to police believe his death is because the book is cursed. The Rabbi does not want to release the body for religious reasons but then he is told murder is suspected and that they got a call and that was why they were there. The man Nathan has been sickly for a couple of weeks.

After investigating it comes out that Nathan was in love with a Miss Begleman whose father Mr. Begleman owned a sweat shop. Miss Begleman also loved Nathan but was promised in marriage to Dr Goldberg. There are several circumstances that involve the same people.

Poison, love, starting a shop union, getting money to buy property and exchanging favors is the reason for death and unhappiness in this episode.

Murdoch has his own problem he wants to end is romance with Enid and he seems like he loves Dr Julia Ogden but he is confused about who he loves.
