Just watched and when one thinks imagination cannot be stretched further this show proves one wrong. Loved the episode.

WTF did I just watch?
reynoldswraptpe1 October 2021
I chose that title for 2 reasons. 1- The sheer lunacy of this episode. 2- because there are several mysteries left dangling in this one and I'm still trying to piece together if they're intricately plotted into the season, or if some important exposition got left on the cutting room floor.

Even if someone made a mistake in either scripting or editing, it takes nothing away from how fun and hilarious this episode was. You will never hear anyone more cheerfully say "Brains!"

So much fun!

This whole episode is a love letter to Doctor Who in so many ways. Michelle Gomez is so much fun. I adore the relationships all of these characters have.

The Fun Is Infectious
Gislef5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The plot is Morrison-ish inspired lunacy. But it wouldn't work except the actors are so committed to acting goofy. Whether is the mains acting like zombies, the insane subtitles, and Mark Sheppard emoting while holding an obvious bogus severed head, everyone present is committed to their parts. Fortunately the butts are CGI, so the actors didn't have to see them on set and probably would have lost their composure if they had.

Kudos to Michelle Gomez, who fits right in despite being the newcomer. Her thinking she's a bird is just weird, but Gomez bites into the scenery and keeps chewing her way from one corner to another. Another reviewer described the episode as Doctor Who-ish. But that show never went so far off the rails as the actors, director, writer, and production staff do here.

Despite the comedy, writer Tamara Becher finally gives us some closure on Niles' death. Thank god, as that had dragged on long enough. And yet Becher gave us closure in true Doom Patrol-style, by turning the group into zombies and having them eat Niles' brain. We also get some new storylines. Not only do we have Rogue, but Larry's "pregnancy" and Cliff dealing with Parkinson's.

Becher also gives us more of the Vic storyline where his father screwed him over. That's one storyline that has dragged on interminably: I thought they had resolved their differences, but no, we're back to Silas being a mean ole father.

Mark Sheppard is always good as Kipling, and I hope they bring him back. He's not listed for any future episodes, though, so apparently not. Pity, that. As a more Constantine than Constantine knockoff, Sheppard has always done the role justice. He's better at it than he was as either Sterling, Crowley, or Badger.

If you like the weird 'DC Legends'-style humor, this is the episode for you. If you want something more serious, you'll probably hate this episode. But then, why are you watching the show in the first place?

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. What do you think?

Missy

I was watching doctor who a while ago. I also watched Sabrina. Why did Missy just walk into this mess again and be quite awesome. Is that a time lord thing?
