Top Chef is back with a whole group of competitive chefs. There is only one New York City chef, Ash Fulk, in the mix this time. There are the Voltaggio brothers, Michael and Brian. One of them works in Frederick, Maryland and the other in Los Angeles, California. There is cancer survivor and talkative Robin Leventhal who is 43 and the oldest of the group. There is the Southern chefs- Eli Kirstein and Kevin Beard from Atlanta, Georgia. There is Even Aronson from Ann Arbor, Michigan. There are the West Coast chefs as well like Robin Leventhal and Ashley Merriman both from Seattle, Washington and Laurine Wickett and Preethi from San Francisco, California. French chef Mattin also cooks in San Francisco. There is Jennifer Carroll from Philadelphia who works for the famous Eric Ripert. When she's boss, she does an excellent job in orchestration like a conductor in a symphony. This time the gang is in Las Vegas, Nevada otherwise known as Sin City. I didn't think I would like the show as much as New York City but I do. Also, there is a Michael from Washington D.C. and Jessie from Baltimore. I don't remember where Hector is from. Ron was born in Haiti and works in Miami, Florida. The group is interesting mix of experience and backgrounds from all over the country. They have interesting challenges which hurt some of the chefs. Anyway, even if you got on for just one episode as a contestant, it's a privilege and an honor even if you don't get past the first episode. Top Chef contestants are the cream of the crop and they really have to show their talents even in difficult situations.
