All Rise meets the "Twilight Zone" --- OMG
tiggerden29 July 2022
I was so confused with this episode I had to watch it twice --- Then I settled my Nerves with a large mug of Chamomile Tea.. I hope the writers don't tank this show, I really do. I have Loved this show from the onset.

Everyone can have an "Off" day, let's hope this is the last of for the writers.

Could've been better
mattyrogers-1802330 July 2022
It's an odd episode in a very strong series. This is one of the best legal based procedural drama series on tv today. It skews to left a bit more than I'd prefer but it does a decent job of painting both sides of an argument as having having merit. I was so mad when CBS canceled it especially since the tanking of its ratings & decline in viewership wasn't due to story telling but instead of CBS's inability to air it consistently in same time slot every week and having several weeks off and then back for an episode and off for 2 weeks and back for 3 then off again for a month.

The return of season 3 on Own has made me so happy and they've made every strong episode until this one. I especially enjoyed the 2 parter that looks to be setting up a potential multi episode or possibly multi season antagonist for the series in the form of an apparent sociopath who Luke gets cleared of murder charges only for Mark to learn he may in fact be a serial killer but doesn't yet have adequate evidence to charge him.

This episode I have no doubt was fun for the brilliantly talented cast to film. It however didn't fit too well in a series that is so based in a world that looks to be nearly identical to our own. In the preview I suspected the premise was going to be a 'what if' like story in which we were going to see what the lives of our leads would look like had they made other choices in their lives specifically what would Lola's like look like had she and law school boyfriend Dre remained together. However the episode turned out to be dream Lola has after fighting with both Mark & Robin. I don't want to pan the story too much but suffice it to say it wasn't the actors who phoned in their work in this episode. Most of the flaws were the fault of production and specifically a misstep by those in the writers room. While normally I don't have any negative critiques for the brilliantly talented cast I will say the actor who plays Luke was depicted in a way that all I can do is hope it was a joke that merely didn't land however based on some of the very "interesting" character choices that were made it came across as boarderline mocking and offensive. I'm unsure if the character was written to be this way or if the actor made a choice however seeing as how I may never know I'd like to think that it's resemblance to certain stereotypes was unintentional.

Still one bad episode isn't enough to alienate me. After how many hours of entertainment this show has brought into my life I won't be so fickle to turn my back on it due to one bad episode and I just hope OWN picks up a 4th season and even a 5th. I never watched Own till All Rise and I doubt I'd watch if it weren't on OWN.

Episode 308
bobcobb30125 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I was surprised when I came in here because I thought this would be an episode people loved but thankfully most like me were not a fan of it. I am all for a what if and a dream scenario episode, but I don't even know what they were hoping to accomplish with this. Having everyone come off as a laid back surfer type just did not make a lick of sense here.

I liked Lola's alternate foul-mouthed surrogate mother, but outside of that, this did not accomplish anything.

All Rise continues its downward spiral in season three which you just hate to see given how fun this show was once upon a blue moon.

A what if episode
bugler00729 July 2022
Was willing to give this a chance, is it a "what if", is it a parody?? It's honestly quite weird, though I'm sure the actors enjoyed changing up their characters.

Not enjoying the whole love triangle plot line, wish they had never started it.

Lola through the Looking Glass lost me at the cussing.

Believe it all not, the f bomb is still offensive to some people.

Off the Rails

I've enjoyed this show since it started and am so glad it found a new home on OWN.

But, this episode was horrific.

Seems like shows like to "expand their horizons" with stand-alone episodes like this. They think they are breaking new ground, They didn't here.

It was so ridiculous it was almost unwatchable.

I loved it!!!

I know this episode is getting a bunch of hate and I get it, but it had to be so much fun for all the talented people involved. Just all the weird and alternate universe vibe was a bit weird but I also found it refreshing. It shows how the show might have been shot through the eye of a different director or lens.( pun intended) Plus, seeing all the vastly different unions and job positions assigned to the actors was fun to watch, in my opinion. Again, I found this show through watching a TikTok but it has become one of my favorite shows. It has heart, grit, emphatic angles, and it pulls all the right strings of emotions.

Unbearable to Watch
ethanisking841 August 2022
I don't normally make bad reviews. ESPECIALLY for All Rise. But this episode was a pile of dump thrown into a dumpster fire. The excessive F-Bombs was so unlike the characters. I've liked the start of this season but hoping the writers were on drugs when this was written. If this doesn't change after the next episode, I will stop watching. Step up, OWN.

This series has been favourite since it began

This series has been favourite since it began However, this episode was so bizarre, so disappointing because it's like the writer was on cheap drugs or some bad liquor. What were you thinking! I may never watch another episode after this one.

Seriously what the hell were the writers thinking. Appalling such a disappointment.

Let's hope this is a one off and things go back to normal very soon as so far most episodes have been well written and acted though this one...

Let us just say every one has an off day but this was ..........

Unbearable, what a terrible idea

What a flop, couldn't handle watching this episode. Might as well be watching a different show. Not what I've come to expect from All Rise. Turned it off after 25 minutes.

Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl.

Warning: Spoilers
When you're out of ideas....do an alternate universe episode.

This one poses the question... What if every character on the show is a total moron?

And let your actors go so over the top that their limited acting skills are revealed.

Oh yeah, throw in many unnecessary f-bombs.

What a horrifying train wreck.

Jump the Shark
bjboulden15 August 2022
This series has gone from great to absolutely horrible. This season has been a total waste. But this episode is where they jump the shark.

I was looking forward to another season, now I'm ready to pull the plug.

Please, No More Like This

Please don't ruin my favorite TV show by incorporating anything from this episode into the show. Normally this is a multi cultural show where everyone is equally educated and classy all displaying mutual respect for each other as they endeavor together to make the justice system equal and fair for everyone. This episode seemed to find all the worst possible stereotypes of every culture to make sure none of the characters are the least bit likable.
