Best Ataturk Movie Ever Made - For Now
sleepingawakerza29 October 2023
There has been many Ataturk movies. Some were good, some were junk that was telling how many crows Mustafa Kemal Ataturk threw rocks.

This looks like the most thought movie.

Color grading, lighting, atmosphere, everything is spot on, like a Hollywood movie.

I always wanted to see a movie about Ataturk, that told the stories of the hard times he had that corrupted Ottoman gave him.

Backstage of this movie shows that there has been a real effort, lots of thinking, everyone involved worked very hard. So kudos to all. Ataturk deserves these detail. Greatest leader all of time needed a great movie like that. Well done.

ilk defa güzel bir Atatürk filmi
akkoc-926891 November 2023
A film like this has never been released before. It was very good. It explained Ataturk and the last periods of the Ottoman Empire well. A great effort was made. I wish Disney+ had not stopped broadcasting it, it would have reached more people (globally). Aras Bulut played Imreli well. In other Ataturk films, there was an effort to deepen Ataturk's voice and add diction, but in this film, it was realistic. Ataturk was already speaking with a refugee accent. This is also the case in this film. Of course, it has its shortcomings, such as Enver Pasha, the Committee of Union and Progress, etc. It could have been better. The color toning etc. Of the film is quite good.

Within the pantheon of cinematic portrayals of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, this latest offering stands out as a distinguished masterpiece. Straying from the trodden path of previous biopics, the film captures the essence of Atatürk with a refreshing authenticity that both educates and inspires. The narrative, rich in historical gravitas, is interwoven with a delicate craftsmanship that brings not only the man but also the mythos surrounding him to vibrant life.

The filmmakers' dedication to presenting Atatürk's multifaceted persona visionary statesman, military genius, and progressive reformer-is evident in every frame. Their meticulous attention to period detail and commitment to nuanced storytelling transcends conventional biographical cinema, making the experience not just a viewing but an immersive journey through a pivotal era in Turkish history.

What truly elevates this film above its predecessors is the unflinching portrayal of Atatürk's humanity. Rather than being perched on a pedestal, he is seen here in his full complexity, his triumphs as well as his struggles laid bare in a manner that is both intimate and grandiose.

In conclusion, this film does not simply retell Atatürk's life story; it reignites it, offering a tableau that is as enlightening as it is enchanting. It is a definitive film that should not be missed, serving as a brilliant homage to one of history's great figures and a sterling example of cinematic excellence.

This is the best Ataturk movie ever made
m-unay15 November 2023
There is no exaggration and unnecessary sentimental touch. It is just what exactly it must be. Some dark scenes are hard to see on the cinema but it also deserves to be a TV series with more detaild look. If it was a bad version about Ataturk, i would criticize harshly but nothing to say bad in general. The actor is perfect to speak different languages lika a native. It was impressive. Visual effects are good according to the budget and support behind the movie. It must be on the platforms but it was got out because of some political reasons. It must be shown on national TV as well. It is educative.

ArasBulut is incredible actor
maryyektaone7 November 2023
In my opinion Atatürk is a unique film with a high level of staging and special effects, and perfect direction and acting. Especially the main actor Aras Bulut iynemli , who is very powerful, intelligent and incredible, and he deserves to play in international projects like Hollywood.

In the movie "Miracle in Cell No. 7" in 2019, Aras Bulut proved to the world that he has superior qualities compared to male actors in the world, and again with this movie, he reminded himself of being a super star.

I recommend watching this historical drama and beautiful movie. The director of the film has proved that he is a master of drama films and an expert in making the viewer cry with his humane and emotional films.

I am genuinely enthralled by this cinematic masterpiece. While it's disappointing that Disney couldn't orchestrate a polished release, the film itself is undeniably a must-watch. Steering clear of spoilers, I firmly believe its profound storytelling has the power to ignite inspiration across generations. The stellar performances of the cast only add to its brilliance, showcasing the impressive talent that breathes life into this extraordinary creation. This movie is not just a viewing experience; it's a journey that resonates deeply, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to witness its magic.

Best Atatürk movie ever made.
fahri8112 November 2023
It tells the story of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. Produced by Disney, it was shot as a TV series, but it was decided to show it in the cinema as a movie. The first movie was released. As a genre, Documentary History Drama fits perfectly. The actors are very well acted, the costumes are appropriate for the period, and the effects are good. I can say that it is the best Atatürk movie ever made. It would have been better if it had been shown as a series on a digital platform. Because history movies are for everyone. I hope Disney changes its decision and the whole world gets the chance to watch this story.

Best Atatürk Movie made so far.
CaptainMifune18 November 2023
I really enjoyed the acting and story telling. I believe it could be made longer because at some points I felt the timeline was really compressed and jumped over events very quickly. But providing that the movie is going through so many people and events it is not fair to judge it on this ground. Since it is not fictitious but depends on real events and people, It would have been better if there were descriptions of characters with some under titles when they were introduced especially for non Turkish viewers. But thanks to the cast and the director, great movie overall and highly recommended.

Warning: Spoilers
I was very impressed. I watched most of it with tears in my eyes. Yes, they are a bit emotional and made a lot of sense. But it's also a good movie. Like previous productions, it has lost its documentary atmosphere. It was nice to see it in the cinema. The child played well. They made it look the same, especially from the back and the side. More should definitely come. Of course it could have been much better. But it is still a very good movie, good narration, acting, costumes, music are successful. I mean, art was universal. How did you turn a blind eye to their objection to publishing this and made this decision? I hope you will understand by finishing with the famous quote of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: "peace at home, peace in the world"

For history lovers
maisonmsn11 January 2024
This film is a piece of art despite being a low-budget biographical film. Its equivalents, such as the super big-budget Napoleon released around the same time as Ataturk, the cinematic storytelling in "Ataturk" is stronger. You will see his character development starting from a childhood until him being a visionary, but very fidel warrior for his country. The noble scene during the Gallipoli (part 2) where his conscience is always aware of the blood of his soldiers who died, while the sultan tries to corrupt him, you'll feel almost what he feels. Ataturk is more compelling than its big-budget counterparts because the scenario is well thought, the storytelling techniques used are are unique.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, since it was about ATAM, it was like I didn't have the luxury of not liking it fanatically. As someone who researched ATATURK in terms of history and read the SPEECH, I have to say that I liked it. Of course, it is easy to describe such a great Leader, around 2 hours is insufficient time, but always Even if I collect information about Ataturk, there is always more, so I can say that the script is just right. Aras Bulut IYNEMLI, on the other hand, managed to take his career to the next level because he was able to portray Atatürk completely without dominating the role of Atatürk. Even 10 years later, I will enjoy looking for Atatürk in the records with emotion. Since it is a very important production, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed, especially ATATUKR AND HIS BROTHERS IN ARMS. With my gratitude and respect to all of them,

Ataturk Part 1: Cinematic Excellence, Historical Biases, and the Emotional Rollercoaster
alwassam-3127524 November 2023
I enjoyed the cinematography, possibly one of the best in Turkish cinema. While some parts of the film felt a bit slow, they were generally acceptable. However, the constant shifts in time, whether to the past, present, or future, were a bit disorienting. In my opinion, biographies should maintain some chronological order while being pleasing to the viewer, adding to the story.

There were issues with historical bias; the film seemed to avoid portraying the dark side of Ataturk. On a positive note, Aras's performance was sensational - a perfect fit for the role.

The ending of the first part, concluding at a peak moment, was a mistake in my eyes. It leaves the viewer on the edge, and in the next part of the Ataturk movie, they will have to rebuild their emotions, which may take some time to fully engage with the narrative again.

All in all, it was a good film.

A Film of the Early Life of World's Greatest Leader
musakenanmarasli3 February 2024
Do you know who Atatürk is? This film will give you an idea; and, you will enjoy it much more if you know history. This is definitely worth a watch and then some.

"Atatürk 1881 - 1919" team has successfully bared the burden of this responsibility and created a masterpiece. The script and cast are very well suited for the dramatic and historic story it tells.

Compared to other films that tell the life of a great person in history, this film is much more loyal to the historic authenticity of the story it tells, almost like a documentary. It also touches the inner world of Atatürk and investigates his emotions and those around him.

The score and visual effects are great. War scenes are very well done. Climactic drama scenes are full of emotion.

It is shameful that Disney+ gave in to Armenians that tried to cancel this film because of their fake and so-called genocide.

Ataturk, amazing example of a leader
alevwi29 November 2023
I am happy to see this movie is available for public viewing. There are many groups who tries to create conflict and share false information about this world recognized leader who established the Modern Democratic Turkish Republic. Saved the country from invading powers from all directions, pulled the country from illiteracy, poverty, and sick status to modern, educated, state. Opened schools at all corner of the country making it possible everyone to get basic education and training. Held human rights high and established constitutional law and order where people held the power not autocrats.

Amazing documentary everyone should watch.

Capturing Atatürk's Legacy
meteoguc25 January 2024
A film depicting Atatürk's life has long been a subject we've yearned for. Particularly valuable is its portrayal of his humane aspects.

The film offers a detailed and historical perspective on various key figures, their relationships with Atatürk, the transmission of Turkish traditions to the newly established republic by Atatürk and his comrades, and the intricate crisis within the evolving Turkish Empire, which was gradually transforming into the "Ottoman" Empire over its final century.

The second part of this movie series starts with The Gallipoli War. It holds great tragedy for the Turks, marked as a victory for that day but inevitably resulting in the occupation of Istanbul due to politics - by the imperial powers of the modern world, ally or foe. This also connects the dots between the lifestyle of ordinary people, their ideals, Atatürk, military and political powers.

The struggle for Turkish independence reflects a nomadic lifestyle thrust into adapting to a settled existence amid the rapidly changing world of the Industrial Revolution. This forced the ancestors, intertwined with a people who found themselves subjected to undeserved oppression, especially the ones who lived around Balkans, eastern Europe, northwestern Blacksea and Tracia regions at first, then the whole Anatolia and finally the middle east to engage in a fight for freedom, enduring decades of silence to comprehend these injustices. The film narrates this tale in a manner most fitting for today's mature perspective through Atatürk's early days.

In addition to the film's historical fidelity, the performances, editing, and music were of exceptional quality.

Could be better if.....
murat197112 November 2023
I will not be reviewing in details because I am sure there will be plenty of them, including scenario, cinematography, acting, historical facts and of course the attitude of Disney+. I will only write some issues that I felt uncomfortable:

  • The accents of Zubeyde Hanim and Makbule should not be a Greek accent

  • A traditional Turkish ballad would fit better when Mustafa Kemal came to his house in Selanique together with Lutfu Bey, where he was showing the acceptance of the relationship of Makbule and Lutfu

  • There should be less scenes with alcoholic beverages for the well known reasons of some conservative public opinions

  • The attitude change of Mustafa Kemal to the soldiers in Trablus after chatting with Omar have no benefit to the story, and I believe it is not a real fact

  • The weakness of the time changes. I believe a regular timeline would be better because the final cut in timelines did not bring big effect to the flow.

No diffrent from tralier
Arjhz22 January 2024
I went into this movie with high expectations but then it left me very disappointed. The movie is, as you know, a 2.2 hour trailer. You won't get bored while watching the movie, in fact they did some of the scenes very well, but as I mentioned before, it is no different from being a trailer. If you think there will be war scenes, you are wrong, because there are only a total of almost 3-5 minutes of war scenes in the movie. But you need to remember that this is a TV series before turned into a movie, so, it is very normal to have so few war scenes. I just want to say that it was a production that had a lot of potential but did not use much of it. In my opinion, the real review of the movie should be made after watching the second movie. I hope the second movie will be much better than this trailer.
