The Streetcar Racers
claudio_carvalho1 July 2023
While in the corridor of the high school, the teenager Trevor Beck is challenged to fight, but collapses and dies instead. Dr. Robbins and Langston perform the autopsy and when the cranium is opened, his brain swells up because of a cerebral edema. His mother tells to Brass that Trevor was a quiet teenager that did not fight and spent his leisure time with his car and more recently also with his girlfriend, Cindy Warner. Soon the LVPD finds that Cindy is missing and her best friend, Renata Clarke, does not know her whereabouts. Their further investigation shows that both were involved in streetcar racing.

"Internal Combustion" is an attractive episode of "CSI" related to the streetcar racing. The story begins with an accidental death and ends with the tragic fate of a teenager. The illegal accident that caused her death, although without intention, pays a high price in accordance with the law. My vote is eight.

It's a Drag
Hitchcoc7 March 2021
A young guy walks from his vintage roadster and collapses in the parking lot just as he is about to fight. It turns out he has an enlarged brain which was a death sentence. But this isn't the case. He has a girlfriend who disappears the same day. She is later found dead, hanging from the lower branches of a tree. We are then brought into the drag racing scene which seems anomalous. Well written episode with some good interaction among the characters.

Moral of the story gets lost .
gerry-robin5 March 2022
So the moral of the story is that drag racing is dangerous. Then Nick and Catherine are walking to their car to leave saying that lives were lost to this sport and they drag race out of the parking garage? Guess the grown ups don't practice what they preach. This was a poor way to end this episode. Why ruin the ending doing the very thing that got people killed?

High School drag racers and then some
mspeed444 February 2010
SPOILER!! SPOILER!! This is an episode that seemed to borrow characters and scenes from previous episodes--a dead teenager with a fast little restored car (except it had an electric motor!)and his missing cheerleader girlfriend, her friend, lots of others who were boarder-line bad guys. And what's a crime isn't really a crime, but a sad tragedy for one and then the missing becomes the murder with all kinds of "what-ifs" flashed around.

The car race sponsored by law enforcement was an interesting scene and lots of cars--restored, kit cars--even an interesting high school automotive shop.

We've seen the girl hit and thrown - Fallen Idols; gathering of souped up cars - Revenge is Best Served Cold, Chop Shop & Anatomy of a Lye; Catherine and Nick racing - Revenge is Best Served Cold. The girl in the tree brought back memories of Scoobie Doobie Do. So the writers are rewriting previous stories with a different cover.

It was great to see Nick and Sara together and LESS of Langston (which actually makes this episode a great one!!) But Greg needs his humor back. On a scale of 1 to 10--this one rates a 5 for original store, but a 7+ for Nick and Sara.
