Whoever did the synopsis credited "American Woman" as a song by Grand Funk Railroad and didn't like the way the song opened. I just wanted to throw my two cents in that "American Woman" is a song by The Guess Who and that's how the song actually begins. The kid didn't make it up, he didn't do the song justice, but the actual song is really good. If you've never heard of The Guess Who, they also did "No Sugar Tonight," which is pretty well known. They're also Canadian so a song directed towards American women as something they have to get away from makes sense opposed to Grand Funk who are an "American Band" and can't get away from American women anyway. It's possible that whoever did the synopsis is thinking of the Lenny Kravitz version from Austin Powers.
I wasn't really thrilled with any of the performances. The sixteen year old sounded like a sixteen year old so he has nowhere to go but up.
