An explanation of how creativity works and the brain activity involved. Illustrating this are interviews with highly creative people - musicians, actors, inventors - and examples from history.
One of my favourite episodes of The Mind, Explained. Being a more analytical than creative person I am fascinated and a touch envious of people who seem to be able to effortlessly create things, especially ground-breaking art that will be remembered and endure forever.
My instant liking for this episode soared even higher when the examples of creativity appeared. First we had Chuck Berry then we had, in what was the key case study in the episode, I Zimbra by Talking Heads, complete with an interview with David Byrne.
Absolutely fascinating stuff and the fact that I love Talking Heads and I Zimbra and find that song incredibly innovative just made my day.
