Better than usual for this show

Rush was so mad at the Lucian Alliance guy who killed the woman Rush was in a relationship with, the writers really should have had Rush make the guy suffer a bit more before he killed him. When a guy is as mad as Rush was, you wouldn't think he would just give the guy a quick death with a bullet to the head like Rush did in this episode. You would think Rush would have wanted his enemy to die a lot more slowly. But no, Rush just gave him a bullet to the head, which seemed a bit out of character to me. But Rush continues to surprise. He's a much more interesting character than many of the others in the show. Maybe it would be better if he was in command.

I only took a few stars off the review because I thought it was unrealistic that Rush gave the guy a fast and fairly merciful death considering how mad Rush was at the guy. If Rush had taken a bit more time with killing the Lucian Alliance guy, this could easily have been rated 9/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Another filler episode, but at least it's a good filler episode. I can't be the only one that notices that there seems to be more episodes in this series that are not related to Destiny's mission than episodes that focus on the main Destiny story. This is where I think the show creators went wrong with SGU. From the beginning of this series they padded the episodes with non main story related scenes. A lot of shows do this and it never makes the show better. Watering down your content makes it more likely that people will lose interest.

Some petty observations from this episode: How did Simeon kill his guard? Rather than just saying "he escaped", I think it would've been better to show it. What was Simeon's ultimate goal? How was he planning on surviving on the planet long term? Also, why does blind rage suddenly turn a character into an elite soldier? Why was Rush ultimately able to do what the actual trained soldiers couldn't? I see that the writers tried to show Rush's lack of firearms skills by having him miss every shot, but in the end Rush was the one that killed Simeon. Not Scott, James or any of the other actual soldiers. It was also very convenient that the herd of animals ran in the exact direction Rush wanted them to. Even though it's total filler, overall this was a good episode.
