Jokes were hit and miss for the first 20 mins or so, but the laughs came hard and fast after that. Well worth your time.

Sean Lock: Lockipedia Live
jboothmillard25 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I obviously first saw him on 8 Out of 10 Cats, and I was looking forward to seeing another live stand up performance, and when I heard about this one I was most interested. Sean Lock plays to a large audience at live at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo, and when I heard the title I assumed it was some kind of audience interaction thing where he talks about suggested subjects or something. It wasn't that at all, it was the simple discussion of many random subjects to make the audience laugh. The subjects he discusses include shopping in Lidl, how he likes to skive, his opinions on some celebrities, like Madonna, his opinions of talent/reality shows, wearing glasses, and much more that is good and funny. Announced by The X Factor's Peter Dickson. Very good!

Good show from a comedian that will be missed.

Sean Lock, died much too early, will be sadly missed on stage. He was a born entertainer, a very good stand-up comedian and this show is a good example of it. The thing I like the most about Sean Lock is that he's very active on stage, he's all over the place, grabs your attention and of course, most importantly, has a great sense of humor. He has a gift to bring his show, not static at all on stage, a good set of jokes well brought. You can't help it to like the guy, he's one of those comedians that never disappoints. Definitely a stand-up comedian I will watch more shows of. Rest in peace Sean, and thank you for making us laugh and having a good time.

Unlocking Lockipedia.

Warning: Spoilers
Making it to the screening of Anurag Kashyap's (who I got the chance to meet) latest film Kennedy (2023-also reviewed) just in time at the Birmingham Indian Film Festival, due to how terrible the trains had been.

Tiredness kicking in from all travelling as I walked back to the hotel, I got two cans of beer from the pub across the road from the hotel, and got ready to end the night watching something easy-going on TV. Having seen him on panel shows for years, I was happy that a Sean Lock stand-up show was about to play, leading to me opening Lockipedia.

View on the film/ special.

Performing without any of his regular panel co-stars, the late Sean Lock gives a hilarious performance, with director Paul Wheeler using mid-shots to emphasize the excited body language movements Lock does when telling a tale.

Revealed by Wheeler in wide-shots to have the crowd laughing at every gag, the routine written by Lock gleefully picks at mundane, normal shopping-related activities, to an absurd level. Bouncing off the false sense of the mundane, Lock unveils very funny, animated set-pieces, including one about what he would like to be done to his ashes, as he closes the pages of Lockipedia.

Not a patch on "Sean Lock Live"
Lones55523 April 2012
After seeing his previous show "Sean Lock Live" I was hoping for something equally good or better. Sadly this fails to deliver at all, even the audience seemed at times to laugh out of awkwardness. I expected better from Sean, he is regularly funny on "QI" and "8 out of 10 Cats" and on his previous stand up tour.

At best this show reaches average, I smiled once or twice but I didn't laugh once. Hopefully this is just a blip in his career and his next show will reach the heights of his previous routines. I found this painful viewing at times and his little giggles at his own jokes became annoying after a while.

3 out of 10.
