Refreshing to see natural people for a change.

If you are looking for stilettos, overly tight skirts, and loud squeals from bossy designers then this isn't for you.

Instead there's Colorado scenery, lots of nature, and unassuming hosts who produce good, well finished designs.

I was very pleasantly surprised and am enjoying this show.

Beautiful scenery

This show follows a similar formula to all the home improvement shows except the husband, Ben, seems to be more of the design guy rather than the wife. He's not as hands on as Chip, Ben Napier or Dave, but he's more the visionary of the project. Supposedly, Cristi, the wife comes in to decorate at the end. Everything is done beautifully. I truly enjoy the show.

Colorado is beautiful!

I love seeing all the beauty of Colorado. What a great place to set a home improvement show. Ben and Cristi are fun to watch. Cristi gets quite the twinkle in her eyes as she walks around recently gutted spaces and imagines what is next. And the ease with which Ben puts his latest ideas on paper is inspiring to watch. Oh to have all of that talent! The team that works with Ben and Christi seems like they enjoy what they do and work wonders with demo and renovations. I enjoy this show very much and hope there are many more seasons in the works. There is nothing like beautiful, beautiful Colorado!

Same as all the other

I just watched three episodes! Not impressed. It is the same format, scripted narrations. Even adding a smalll Renovation in the same show as another show to much repeat of conversations not new. HGTV announcing this show was that it was supposed to be DIFFERENT. I thought this was going to be different but NOT! Too much wood and things that you will get tired of seeing. I understand it is in Colorado but take out wood then add more????? The thing that gets me is, does Christi ever brush her hair. Maybe that is the difference - not groomed! It is really not different than any other home improvement show. They need to review their own show and figure out how to make it different.

The Best of HGTV
inquirychutec10 November 2023
These two are by far the best couple on HGTV! Well along with Nate and Jeremiah. They are so likable and personable. Nothing about them seems forced. I like that we got to know them first and are just now getting to see a glimpse of their kids, who are older and seem to be choosing whether they want to be on the show.

It's great to see a show take place in somewhere other than California. The Colorado landscape is phenomenal. The views are amazing! Their designs are stunning. I want them to design any house for me and I want to be friends with them! I like everything these two have to offer

Oh, and no shiplap!!

Same, Same, Same

Yet another HGTV show with exactly the same formula as every other: 1. A couple teams up in their home improvement business. He designs and builds, she decorates the finished product.

2. Wealthy people spend $200,000+ to update their homes.

3. 5 minutes spent showing the old design, 5 minutes showing demo, 5 minutes on nifty computer generated plans, and 5 minutes on the precise placement of throw pillows.

4. A soundtrack by your neighbor's kid's garage band.

The designing couple seem nice and the setting is gorgeous, but it's not enough to carry the whole show. HGTV formulaic programming at its most mediocre.

Building Roots on HGTV is a breath of fresh air in the world of home improvement shows! It's a delightful blend of creativity, practicality and heartwarming stories. The team's dedication to transforming spaces while honoring their historical and cultural significance is remarkable. The hosts expertise and genuine passion shine through as they breathe new life into forgotten places making them vibrant homes once again. The show beautifully captures the essence of revitalization, showcasing how creativity can uplift hearts and inspire, bringing people together. Building Roots isn't just about renovations; it's about revitalizing communities and preserving their stories. A must watch!

not the same BUT NOT THE SAME :/

Whilst its refreshing to not see the hoaxllywood c0caine look.. the unprofessional OccupationalHealthSafety stuff that happens in this show is just astonishing. Im not sure how a lot made it to air. And they dont seem real all in like theyve been given the usual show template. Buuuuut.... it just doesnt fit... doesnt seem to come naturally to them -both him & her.. im aware not everyone can be a good chiP & joey... it just doesn't feeeel good quality. Sort of like newbie we're in 2nd year training vibes.

TiP.... dont follow their avoidance of lung & eye safety gear o_O.

Might be worth watching to see the view & learn about the locations. Or maybe to nag the tv "ohhhh... why did you do that for"..
