This episode is the "official" start of the Attitude Era, mostly because of Vince McMahon's "Cure for the Common Show" promo, although there had been plenty of "attitude" in the episodes in the weeks prior to this, particularly in the edgy antics of D-Generation X, the New Age Outlaws and the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust. The show opens with Michael Cole interviewing the Undertaker. The first match is Taka Michinoku versus Jerry Lawler. The Legion of Doom cut a promo on D-Generation X. The Rock cuts a promo on Steve Austin. Dude Love faces Jesse James. Mark Henry squashes the Brooklyn Brawler. Vince McMahon calls out Owen Hart. Tom Brandi takes on the Sultan. Steve Austin throws the Intercontinental Championship off of a bridge. Vince cuts the "Cure for the Common Show" promo, basically warning parents that some content on Raw might not be appropriate for children. Steve Blackman faces Jose Estrada. D-Generation X cuts a promo on the Road Warriors. The main event is D-Generation X versus the Road Warriors. A pretty good episode, but most of the matches are mediocre.
