Bad Players, Bad Designs, Bad Idea
duckdevaney29 January 2023
I've always enjoyed watching Christina and feel bad for her and all her relationship problems. Her new beau may be her happily ever after, but he is not a personality for TV. There interactions are odd at best. As a real estate agent that views beautiful homes day in and day out, her designs are not for this area (dated to put it bluntly) and not suited for Tennessee living. Show seems to be more about her privileged lifestyle then design. Appears very scripted, it's just wrong on all levels. I hope they find a lane, focus on her talent, remove her current beau and do it fast before it loses all viewers.

Too much
d-robold20 January 2023
Too much of everything. Too much Christina, too cutesy, too much money when people are struggling to pay rent. Way over the top. Everyone SMILES about everything, even when they seem to be overruled on ideas and budget. Huge budgets. From what I've seen after two episodes, although Christina enthuses about being in Tennessee, it's all California Coastal inside. Very expensive redesigning. Talking country and wearing boots has nothing to do with designs, but she repeats "country chic" over and over, perhaps assuming the viewers will believe it. White is the primary color. White walls, blindingly white smiles, white boots. Boring.

Just OK
lemmerg27 January 2023
I've been watching her for years and have always enjoyed her different evolutionary shows, but somehow this one is disappointing. I think there is way too much personal activity and not enough house renovation. I'm not as interested in her personal life with her new husband - really want to see more house designing. Also, I haven't been that impressed with the houses that she's done so far (three episodes). Everything is starting to look so similar. I hope that she continues to do her coastal show because that program seems more interesting. I will keep watching, hoping that the "country" show picks up.

Too much country
aviator-4959717 February 2023
Christina's new hubby shows up a lot in this new show - do we need to see these frequent five minute segways ? Quite simply there's not enough design or talk with the contractors on their challenges for these $100k renovations . For $100k I'd expect to see a lot of chatter on that ! Grey and white Is always the theme of the day here less the homeowners want something else. Christina on the Coast on the other hand has a much better flow to it - the recipe here seems better - this country show appears to be transforming into 'Designing for the Sexes' I'd have to say this show needs more work doing to it .

Stop Giving This Woman Shows
comptonranch18 February 2023
I have been around since the early Flip Or Flop days. And, I'm sorry, but Christina is not it. All her designs look the same! And the amount of money she spends is insane. Normal people don't have budgets like that. Christina obviously thinks high end is what people want to see. But, it's not. It's the designs we want to see. Designs that say something about the homeowners or the homes themselves, not Christina. I would guess inside her home looks just like these homes she "designs."

Also, how many new men is she going to go through? This is the 3rd just since she and Tarik split up...I guess Tarik got me in the divorce, because I think he's a better person with more talent. Stop giving Christina so many opportunities, when Tarik is much more likeable and interesting.

Fun show but could be better.

I think Christina is a talented designer, and love seeing her facial reactions to situations that arise. Very happy for her new family. Her new husband seems very nice but doesn't add much to the show. I do wish the California glitz could be toned down some. Her clients seem like Hollywood wanna bes. Would be nice to see clients who are regular people and don't aspire to becoming tv stars. Also, would like to see her try to save her clients some money in her designs. I like that Christina dresses appropriately and not like a Barbie doll. Jeans, boots and a cute baggy top are all she needs. Love her little Frenchi! It's fun to see her kids growing up and her daughter showing design interest.

Coastal in Tennessee
k8teeg14 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There was no need to create a new show with a new name as this interior is identical to her previous remodels. I'm actually a fan of her style, but I expected this show to be, I don't know, a country version as the name suggests. After watching the first episode, I feel so bad for the homeowners spending all of that money just to have a house that looks like the Serena & Lily catalogue threw up in it, perhaps because it did in every way and while coastal style fans will love it, not one thing about it looks country.

Even worse, the interior now badly clashes with the exterior architecture (with the exception of a couple lights and the bathtub.) That decision is really going to hurt their potential resale market because most people who will like the colonial exterior in a Tennessee home are not looking for California modern interiors and conversely those looking for a modern coastal interior aren't looking for a house with colonial architecture. Seagrass shows up in styling everywhere, just like in Tennessee right? It's even worse that it's their family and the hubby/brother is a real estate agent whose opinions weren't factored in at all (and the only one we see is on point about the flooring being too coastal.) It's a good thing it's their dream home, there's no way they'll recoup the investment in that style of home (like they might in a house with modern architecture or if they chose a more appropriate wood tone.)

The last thing was clearly there was no budget because there's a lot of wasteful design choices especially the unnecessary wall of tile. The husband tried to voice his comfortable budget and as a designer I cannot believe how little she listened to her clients, just blowing right past that and not even indicating on camera how much it cost is terrible, and also terrible for the producers to do. I realize perhaps they want to showcase a transition in her style from California to country but this feels like a joke. Maybe off camera the wife said she wanted a California modern interior with lots of Coastal, but still the interior designer should really work with them to help them understand the potential problems with doing that. Hopefully future episodes feature forceful clients who won't let her do this again, but for now it's barely watchable for me and I am a fan of her style and her other show so it's an extra let down.

Christina in the Country
kishline-4417220 January 2023
I am enjoying Christina in the Country. She does a beautiful job picking classic and timeless materials for her designs. I think Josh is a wonderful addition and it's nice to see a confident unpretentious man who is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and work. It's always great to see the kids and the fun life they have when In Tennessee. They all seem to enjoy the country life and animals. Christina seems to so happy and I hope there will be a season 2! I can't wait to see what they will do with the property they purchased in the second episode. Also, looking forward to more episodes of Christina on the Coast.

Worse Than Ever
harryejonesrd23 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I watched an episode where she brought her SoCal style of open concept to a colonial house in Tennessee. Sorry, that just doesn't work. It looked absolutely ridiculous, but the owners just raved about how fabulous it was and how the new design changed their lives. Yeah, right - wait until they want to sell it. She just isn't a great designer, it's the same thing over and over, and she is so predictable on camera. Ugh. I liked watching the show Flip or Flop, but her husband built that business and she was just along for the ride. Now that their marriage is over, HGTV has given her a solo show with her new husband, but it doesn't work. HGTV should pull the plug on this bomb. Don't waste your time.

Best Christina show so far
pdxseayvr28 January 2023
I'm enjoying this for multiple reasons. First, Christina seems especially relaxed & happy here, which creates a fun & peaceful vibe for the whole show. The scenery is beautiful, and I love all of the side segments about their home/family/extended family/friends...it's nice to be transported to the country and fun to get to know Josh more - he seems like such a great guy (& his sister & her husband are a hoot...they should be a consistent side part of the show).

The design aspect of it all is good, though I'd like to see more details regarding the decisions of design choices.

Christina is great in her own right, and Josh and his family add even more depth and warmth to it all. I think this is the best Christina show so far.

No Tennessee flair and too much dissing California
cheriecapri28 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Her style is exactly the same as in California. That is my first disappointment. But her husband trashing California often is very annoying and extremely misleading. I don't know if he lived there but it doesn't seem so. I just watched an episode where he he stated people in California make snores on propane but in Tennessee they do things different. Well I have had plenty of smores in California made on open fires in people's yard with a fire pit, in the beach, and in the dessert. That was stupid and, untrue and useless statement to make. Isn't it bad enough that we spread false statements on social media about different parts of the country? Do we have to do it design shows too. And from the husband of the person who made her fortune in California? Smh.

Good for her!
bem-037605 April 2023
I actually like this show because I've always liked her. I can't stand Tarek new show and absolutely abhor his new wife! I think he always kept Christina in check and I just keep thinking about how he berated her by saying his new wife was prettier, he was a winner etc. BTW the new wife acts like a small child. So good for Christina for getting away from him and making her own way in life. I wish her the best! But this review isn't about him. She's a good designer. I think slot of people prefer the gray/white color scheme so that's what she does though I e seen her do a dark green kitchen. I'm also anxious to see what they do with the fixer they bought.

Great family values!
vickielunden5 March 2023
My grand kids as well as the rest of our family all appreciate how Christina and her new husband creatively take time to interact with their children in meaningful, fun ways enjoying the outdoors, their farm animals and wonderful family values. Really enjoyed their berry-picking outing with extended family. This is a bonus to the show already providing Christina's spectacular home renovation ideas, creative redesigns plus how the renovations are accomplished. It is also interesting that the show is documenting the many homeowners migrating to new locations to live and where they have come from.

We love the show!

Great show
ttjorgy12 February 2023
This is Christina at her best, I actually like her new man, Josh, he seems very humble & he seems ok being in the background, unlike tarek who needs to flex his muscles & wear shirts 2 sizes too small to try to impress people. Christina's decorating is superb, love watching her projects come together! Christina seems so much more at ease than she has been in the past... it's obvious her best design projects are yet to come.. I do wish she wore less makeup plus wore outfits more indicative if a contractor... but that being said the cool ideas/projects that she has really transforms her jobs into masterpieces..keep up the good work.

Love it!
breannacagle21 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why everyone doesn't like it. I love the Tennessee life they are building together. I actually like seeing the more personal side of things. And yes with some clients she does go pretty high in price but I'm guessing people forget about that one episode where you spends her own money for flooring because the subfloor came out. I think she will end up adjusting to Tennessee and southern charm the longer they are there. Also for people saying it's all the same designs but you like fixer upper where literally it's always open the wall and put in an island and it's always farmhouse. With fixer upper it's pretty much the same thing every episode. Not mention Christina isn't doing the whole house she's only doing the parts that need help and I actually like that.
