Don't know, if the director was on his phone while shooting or something went wrong in editing, but this movie has far to long scenes.

It starts off with a mildly creepy scene, but after that it becomes hard to watch. Maybe they wanted to build suspense or something, but it just doesn't work well, if almost every scene feels to long. The viewer shouldn't notice the cuts, but in this case, the missing cuts are very noticable.

I watched this to fall asleep, so I won't complain to much. For that it worked well. This should be the end of my review, but since they require more characters, I'll keep going for a bit. This is also very fitting for this movie.

Confused by Positive Reviews

So I'm 30 minutes into the movie and besides the terribly boring and bad 10 minute intro discussion between some girl and someone you assume to be a family member, maybe a father? I don't know, it wasn't explained and wasn't clear. But nothing has happened so far.

I gave it another 10 minutes and still nothing interesting has happened. It's all just been talking about the sleep study they're supposed to be doing, but literally NOTHING has happened. Just people sitting around talking to each other. Insanely slow and I have to wonder if the positive reviews are confusing this movie with a different Conjuring movie since there are multiple, but this is not affiliated with that movie.

I can't keep going... it's just so incredibly boring. If nothing happens in the first 40 minutes of your film, you're doing something wrong. Save yourself an hour and a half and pick a different movie.

Wow - just - wow ! (And I'm not saying that in a good way / or positive way )

The only thing that was scary or horrendous- was just EVERYTHING- and I say that - to warn all of you :

Do not waste your time with this poor excuse of a movie.

Do not waste your money with this garbage excuse of a movie.

I cannot even comment on the acting in this -because I think i could have walked outside- and waved a five dollar bill- and found anyone to "act out any scene with the results being " Oscar worthy " compared to the stiff horribleness " that I sat through as I tried to find any good positive thing to say about this.

A 4 year old with an iPhone could have given us better footage and a better story experience.

What an insult to the Conjuring franchise. A bunch of acting noobs let loose on a dreadful script. The "horror" is laughable but the acting, editing, and effects are horrific.

This is a cookie cutter script but the name recognition drags you in, unfortunately. A small budget doesn't need to be a barrier to a good movie but that's not the case here. At least the cinematography isn't bad. It does look like a more expensive movie; good colour saturation, nice focus, good angles. I really can't be angry about that aspect. Everything is "zum kotzen".

Who greenlit this? Who cast it? Who watched it?

Watch this if you want to sleep.

The plot synopsis and movie poster were very misleading. The special effects, costume, and make-up were obviously low-budget -- there's nothing wrong with not having a large budget! They just didn't seem to use it properly! -- The acting was AWFUL with absolutely no character chemistry, and the editing was mediocre at best.

The plot was full of cheap tricks that don't add any substance to the storyline. Nothing lined up. Not engaging or interesting at all

Not worth watching if you wan't to be scared. Watch it if you want to say you watched The Conjuring lol.

I am a die hard horror fan. I watch nothing but scary stuff. And i liked the conjuring movies. I wouldn't consider them scary. But, no complaints. But this, this awful movie. I was so hopeful. But i could barely sit through this. The acting was awful and the story was awful. Nightmares and sleep paralysis are a real part of my life every night when i sleep due to my own mental problems and it was so hard to watch this movie. I wanted to turn it off many times and I didn't, only because i paid a few bucks to watch it. Don't waste your money. I actually signed up and made an account just to post this. Don't watch.

These people stole the name Conjuring just to get eye balls on this piece of garbage film. It is the slowest, most poorly acted, piece of garbage ever to be put out as a movie. I am a huge horror fan and can put up with a ton of garbage but this is utter trash. I get it. You have no idea what you're doing so just steal a name and go for it. At least try. I can't fathom how anyone in this movie called their family and said "I'm doing it!" or "I landed a part in an actual movie". For their follow up might I recommend "The Amityville Conjuring, a Child at Play on Elm Street on a Sinister Friday the 13th....... Ouija!!

I was at no point...scared during this movie. My wife and I couldn't decide on a movie to watch, and it was getting late, so we just agreed to watch this piece of garbage. We even drank alcohol during the movie...didn't help. That's a bad sign. The acting was bad. The story was bad. Who would agree to be paid 200 dollars to be experimented on, with a side effect of sleep paralysis?! NO ONE! The doctor's mumbo-jumbo about sleep paralysis was enough to put anyone to sleep! The movie got a surprising low 2.3! I guessed 3.9. My wife guessed 4.2. Wow. We were both overshooting this complete waste of time. I hope to GOD they didn't spend a lot of money on this piece of S***! If you see this for rent...and you will, it cost us on YouTube $5.65. Please...there is so much you can spend your money on with that...buy a burger...donate to a homeless shelter...ANYTHING! Just wait for this rubbish to be free before you watch and HATE yourself for viewing it. Peace.

Not worth watching

This movie is even worse than all the other Conjuring movies, it feels like they had to cut back on the budget with this movie so they made it like a home shot movie. The scenes are way too long, boring and terribly acted, it is more fake than fake. The whole point of the story line is still unclear for what they were going for, it is very messy and boring.

Especially near the ending of the movie it seems like the acting got worse, so did the make-up and editing, The story does not line up, the scenes are too long but yet the lack so much information, which makes it hard to understand what it´s about.

Don´t waste your precious time on watching this horrendous movie.

The Best Movie of All Time.

This was, is and always will be one of the greatest pieces of fiction I've ever had the fortune of consuming. The visuals and acting were some of the most impressive I've experienced. Throughout the movie, I've remained enticed and suspenseful, wondering what new twist could happen next. I truly give my standing ovation towards the directors of this film. Truly, they have transformed the very art of film-writing itself, proving that making a movie better than Morbius is possible.

Thank you, Calvin Morie McCarthy, for allowing your genius to flow through your work and express itself in a beautiful harmony.

Meh but scary

Well! I don't know how this came into my suggestions but it did and I watched it just to know why it got 2.2 stars only.

I've had sleep paralysis and nightmares so many times. Few where I woke up crying. The movie really really spooked me put I had to look at the curtain because I knew something was gonna come up on the screen.

Yes, the movie would have be very boring if I didn't just fast-forward. And I didn't understand how the things happened, what was the explanation, but I guess the movie was to just make us think before going to bed the night we watch the movie.

I'd recommend it if you're interested and want to watch something light.

Slow paced, monotonous nonsense...

Granted, I wasn't really harboring much of any expectations to this 2022 horror movie titled "Conjuring: The Beyond" from writer and director Calvin Morie McCarthy. Why? Well, it just seemed like it was a dubious horror movie cashing in on the success of "The Conjuring" franchise.

But still, I opted to watch "Conjuring: The Beyond" on the account of it being a horror movie that I hadn't already seen. And I should have taken heed of the low rating that the movie had bagged here on IMDb, as it was a very clear indicator of what to expect.

Well, the storyline told in "Conjuring: The Beyond" was adequate enough, however the narrative was just too mundane, slow-paced and uneventful. I mean, you have to go 43 minutes into the movie before anything of even the slightest interest starts to happen, and by then it was just too little, too late. So yeah, don't get your hopes up for "Conjuring: The Beyond", because this was not a gem in the horror cinema.

The acting performances in "Conjuring: The Beyond" were somewhat fair enough, taking into consideration that the actors and actresses had very little to work with in terms of a properly written script, or even an interesting storyline.

Visually then you're not in for a grand cinematic experience, should you opt to sit down and watch "Conjuring: The Beyond". It was okay enough for a movie of this caliber and magnitude, I guess. But this wasn't something that impressed me.

I gave up on the movie with just 53 minutes into the ordeal. By then I just couldn't take any more of this slow-paced nonsense. "Conjuring: The Beyond" failed to entertain me, and this is not a movie that I will ever return to attempt finish watching. Nor is it a movie that I would recommend horror fans to waste their time, money or effort on. Some of us suffered through this in greater or smaller length, so you don't have to.

My rating of "Conjuring: The Beyond" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

So i thought it was Conjuring sequel but oh my god what is this thing is this even movie? I can't even considerate this as movie it had no story or whatsoever. There is no story or progression it was absolute trash. 3. Doesn't even give off conjuring vibes

4. The movies are usually including a family what happened to that?

5. What's the doctor's backstory, how does it tie into the conjuring?

8. Wanda didn't get her brother (I think) involved, or ask for help?

9. It kinda doesn't make sense

10. Conjuring has a possessed person in every moviez not someone that just walks out of bed and disappears forever

If you planning on watching this movie just don't. I honestly feel like it's not the conjuring , and just named the conjuring as a coresidence. It's just a horrible movie in general!

It got very confusing at the end. I thought this was supposed to be a good film saying it's a conjuring. I've seen better ones on this. At the end of the film they all wake back up to square one like what the hell!!! The graphics was Not great. Was not scary at all. Some people may like this but me personally would not recommend it. Nearly Most of them went missing yet it didn't show much, apart from the thing coming near them and taking them. You should've made this film more extreme or scary.

The reason I give this one star because it is not worth five stars. If the film was scary to the point we was jumping out of our skin then I would probably give it a high star rating.

Looks like a joke exam project from no talented movie producers. "Special effects" are hillarious. Acting is so very bad. I hope this does not ruin the actors careers, cause you don't want this on your CV. Even the old zombie movies were scarier then this. Waste of my evening. I would say, don't watch is, but then you probably will.

Total scam. They intentionally use the name 'Conjouring' to make some unsuspecting people believe it's part of the Conjuring series.

I myself suffer from sleep paralysis and wished I could have fallen into one during the movie. That would have been definitely scarier but also more entertaining.

The film was so bad, no acting, the makeup was simply ridiculous, the horror might have been intended for school kids, and for the first 40 minutes, absolutely nothing happens. Dialogues that make no sense and are unnecessary. There's so much wrong here, often makes no sense, and the ending is an absolute disaster.

By far one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Save your money, your time, and watch something else.

NOT Conjuring but it is Awake

The ONLY thing this has in common with the original franchise is the name. Other than that... WOW.

For literally forty five minutes, not a single thing happened. We sit threw forty five minutes of talking... forty five minutes of what apparently passes for a script in whatever world this was filmed. As bored as you most likely are reading this... that is how bored we were watching this slow motion train wreck.

The acting was.... let's just say that even calling it acting is being generous. The script - if you want to call it that - appears to have been written by someone in the clutches of sleep paralysis.

Not only is this movie a COMPLETE waste of time, but it wastes your time while still at the same time ticking boxes.

The school that these people are in is supposed to have been abandoned... to the point that it was in danger of imminent domain demolition. It has been abandoned for so long that there are still rotary dial telephones! Yet, somehow, there is a single 4x6" pride flag hanging on the wall in the background in several scenes. TOTALLY organic and accurate. :eye_roll:

This movie is about hypnosis and mass hysteria. Ironic, in that the aforementioned symbol is subliminally inserted in the scenes in such a way that, unless you are looking for it, you will not notice it. You will not notice it CONSCIOUSLY, that is. The symbol has been placed in such a way that your SUB-conscious mind WILL see it.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE.

A different kind of paranormal film

No, this is not connected to "the Conjuring", I think that was a given, but I have to say this is at least different. I chuckle a little at all of the nods to classic films like "the Haunting", "bride of Frankenstein", and "nightmare on elm street". But you can tell that it was done in good fun.

If you can look past the obvious marketing tactic of using popular franchise word association, than I think you'll find this slow burn entertaining and at times a little hypnotic.

The acting is solid, the special effects punch above their weight class, and for the love of god at least we got something at least TRYING something different.

Headache while watching

I feel this is not worthy of being called a film. This thing is the worst of the worst. More than 30 minutes just to talk, boring, and i'm sorry to see this thing. I hope you see people's reviews of the movie before watching it. To be honest this film is very bad. The writing of the story is very lacking, the acting is bad, then why is there a sex scene in the middle of a movie? I swear if you want to see how a movie that is not worth watching this is one example. Even though at the beginning of this film there is a scene that in my opinion is quite scary but after entering the 30s it is no longer worth watching. So don't watch this movie or you will regret. Sorry for my poor english.

It was so bad that I didn't think that even it deserved any review, but I pushed myself to warn people about what is waiting for them if they decide to get the ticket! There are just a few examples that I couldn't help myself thinking of getting out of the cinema to take a breath!

The so-called special effects were like some amateur from 80s was created them!! The acts were terrible, the story were awful and the dubbing in Turkish was like a torture!!

Usually, I search the movies and review they critics before going to cinema or watching them, but the name of the movie fooled my into thinking that "Conjuring" had something to do with the famous "The Conjuring" movie I watched years ago. But the name is misleading. This movie has nothing to do with them and I recommend everyone stay away from this.

A film with some good editing. This film keeps the viewers "on their sleeves". It doesn't fail to create a tension in the story.

Generally, films like this often tend to create an air of mystery which it does. But it fails to work on its setting. The setting could've been explored more for the story. Some characters seemed that they were written halfheartedly. The director explored different emotions by portraying it minimalistically just for the sake of it.

The film would have been better if it gave attention to the backstory of all the participants of the experiment, instead of just focusing on one. I understand that it is tough to create characters that resonate with this genre and with the audience properly, but couple of characters could have been a bit more real.

The beginning didn't catch my attention but the rest of the film did. There are scenes which can be referred to as being good only because of the editing. The editing helped the loose script to hold the film together. On some instances, the acting was really good which worked for the film. The only major drawback was the lack of the backstory of the Doctor which I feel could've added to the tension in the film.

The ending was not at all expected as the film had me invested in the ghost angle which again was 'half-baked'. But it works well for a film with less budget.

Silly Kaka - Conjuring: The Beyond

As Harry Houdini proudly noted, no one could claim to be able to PROVE contact with the next world. He offered $50,000 ( a considerable sum in the 1920s) to ANYONE who could prove contact with the beyond. A few charlatans tried to con him, but none succeeded. All conjurers, obviously, are fakes, as is the one in this film. So promoting obvious lies is not a good strategy for a screenplay, nor is it a good choice of a vehicle for one's career in acting or directing. Better to do a public service announcement for free rather than take an emergency check for doing shoddy work on a piece of junk like this.

Good God, this was awful

I'm not sure what I can add to the other excellent reviews of this movie. Not that the movie is excellent, but the reviews are. I literally nodded off during the first 20 minutes when absolutely nothing happens, but "as it got going" I was absolutely stunned by the lack of professionalism in this movie, The English actor that plays the doctor, I've never heard of and I looked him up, he's not done anything of any relevance, and literally stumbles over his words, as if he forgets his lines, I was embarrassed for him. It's the worst example of a bunch of film students throwing a film together in five minutes I've ever seen. The Director must have been off work in the 3 days max it took to shoot this abomination, and I'm surprised he didn't remove his name from it.

Not Bad

If I had known, I would not have watched the movie. I wish I had checked the imdb rating first. It's a middle class movie. There was fear, I was afraid, but it was an insult to the series. It was scary to watch it alone in a huge movie theater. I can't say it's very good for the script either. I don't really understand why they went on an adventure when there was the same quality actors, director, and a better script. Still, for me, the most mediocre adaptation is jeepers creepers reborn. My number one among the worst movies. You can do something better. If it is possible to act as an amateur, you can give me a role as a starter. I am also disabled.
