Sorry this review is not in Bahasa Melayu and there are some spoilers below.
I would like to commend the beginning of the movie where there was a buildup to the 'horror' aspect of the film and some good cinematography. I could see the trauma experienced by Dato' Adi Putra and some bits and pieces of his past, that would only be undermined by the apology given by his sister at the end.
The whole premise of this film was complicated and i had trouble accepting certain aspects of the script as they seem unnecessary. Things like the brothers FIGHTING to help 'cure' their sister? Why was their rivalry important again? To make matters worse, there were sudden cuts and awkward pauses in the editing which made me rethink my choices watching the film. The audio used for the child's crying sounded like it originated from a soundboard and even overused. I even swore that they voiced over Fikri (Played by Dato' Adi Putra) and attempted to mimic his voice when doing so. I'm guessing the audio got corrupted or they forgot to add that script in. But either way, i have no clue on why the entire crew allowed that to be in the final cut. Why not just ask Dato' Adi Putra to record that part at home while having dinner with his family? It would not make much of a difference anyway since some parts of the audio sounded like a recording from a tin can.
The whole 'horror' aspect of the film ended at the beginning. The film should be categorized under 'Comedy' as the jumpscares were hilarious. (I especially loved the part where the dead dad scared his sons in the car). It was like a budget haunted house at a Secondary School. And guess what? The whole solution to this haunting was narrowed down to 'Love' and 'Forgiveness'. Sounds familiar? Yeah... i think I saw it in the movie Frozen by Disney.
However, there were some thrilling scenes that could give you goosebumps (kudos to the costume and film crew) but i could not shake the feeling that this film was a collaboration of 2 different crews and pieced together haphazardly. There were more things that bothered me but maybe I should not be too harsh on the film as the director could be very new and inexperienced.
Watch at your own discretion, but only if you are looking for a good laugh.
