Superman seems to have all the types of powers in the world, and with such a massive arsenal, it is inevitable to have some of them nearly forgotten into oblivion. In fact, many of his absurd powers have come and gone, retaining only some of his iconic skills such as super-strength, flight, cold breath, and X-ray vision, to name a few.

Prodigal Son proved to be a unique offering in a small screen sea flowing with genre-similar crime procedurals, standing out as a successful freshman offering for Fox after its debut in 2019. While the network was quick to capitalize on that success by giving the series a backorder for more episodes, it stopped short of an advance renewal for Season 2. However, any fears about the network’s apparent indecision proved to be unfounded.
Fox has officially announced its renewal for Prodigal Son Season 2, assuring fans that the crimson-coated cliffhanger on which the inaugural season ended will get to play out onscreen. Moreover, in a move that seems to imply that this renewal was always in the bag, the network also released a proper teaser trailer for the second season of Prodigal Son, featuring new footage about the aftermath of said cliffhanger moment (more on that angle later).

Shamier Anderson (“Wynonna Earp”) and Stephan James want to break down barriers of discrimination and combat systemic racism in the Canadian arts.
On Dec. 3, the Scarborough, Ont. brothers announced the formation of The Black Academy, an expansion of their not-for-profit B.L.A.C.K. Canada, which they established in 2016. The new, Black-led organization will honor, celebrate and showcase established and emerging Black talent, amplifying English and French-Canadian talent and artists across the country.
“The impetus of The Black Academy stems from our long-lasting commitment, deep ties to our community, and an awareness of the lack of opportunities to celebrate and elevate Black talent in Canada,” Anderson tells Variety. “The Black Academy celebrates and inspires Black Canadians, not only in the arts, but culture, entertainment and sports. This is something that’s the first of its kind, and we’re excited to really bring it up and bring it out and build awareness around it.

Pauly Shore is the kind of actor that people really need to like or tolerate since otherwise he gets old pretty quick and his acting gets a bit dated since he never really appeared to grow out of the Encino Man and Son In Law days. He’s tried to move on, that much is evident, and his take on a few classic scenes from classic movies is kind of amusing, but it does feel as though he just hasn’t grown up yet and is still trying to bank on humor that is coming back around thanks to nostalgia. Studio 54 may have closed four decades ago, but it becomes more iconic every day. Studio 54: Night Magic, a new exhibit at Brooklyn Museum (and book), studies the nightclub’s history and influence.
Co-founders Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager opened Studio 54 on April 26, 1977. It would go on for just 33 months, closing in February 1980. After it was sold to Mark Fleischman, the nightclub would briefly reopen in the Eighties, but the new exhibit solely focuses on the first 33 months — now an integral part of pop culture history.

Although he’s expanded his scope with bigger and bigger budgets, for my money, Denis Villeneuve’s finest work is still Enemy, the enigmatic psychological thriller that launched his creative relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal that would be followed by Prisoners. Now, their next collaboration has been solidified on a long-gestating project.
After they became attached to a feature film adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s hit novel The Son a few years back, the project is now moving forward as an HBO limited series with Villeneuve as director and Gyllenhaal set to star, Deadline reports. Billions producer Lenore Zion will be the showrunner, while Jonathan Nolan is on board as executive producer.
The Son is a guilt-filled crime thriller centered on a man in his early thirties who took the fall for some others and landed himself in jail, where he’s been locked up for a dozen years. When his father is murdered,...

James McAvoy and Claire Foy will star in a thriller about a father’s missing child called “My Son” for STXfilms that’s an English-language remake of the 2017 French film of the same name, the studio announced Monday.
Christian Carion, who directed the original “My Son” starring Guillaume Canet and Mélanie Laurent, will also direct McAvoy and Foy in the remake. STX has closed the rights to distribute the film in North America and the UK, as well as Italy, Benelux, Latin America, Spain, Australia and China.
“My Son” stars McAvoy as a man searching for his missing son in the town where his ex-wife (Foy) now lives. But McAvoy will go about filming the project in an unusual way: he will not be given a script or dialogue, only the basic aspects of the story, and he will have to improvise and react to reach moment as it unfolds,...

John Fogerty says that Donald Trump’s use of his song Fortunate Son at campaign rallies is “confounding, to say the least,” given that the lyrics to the song were inspired by rich people who were able to avoid the draft during the Vietnam war.
When the song was played at Trump’s rally in Michigan on Thursday, a number of journalists tweeted that it didn’t appear that the campaign grasped the meaning of the lyrics.
In an Instagram post, Fogerty said that he wrote the song in 1969, at the height of the Vietnam war, when he had already been drafted and had served in the military.
He said that the “inspiration for the song” was the disparity in those who were drafted and those who were getting deferments. “Back in those days we still had a draft, and something I was very upset about was the fact that people of privilege,...

John Fogerty said he found President Donald Trump’s use of the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic “Fortunate Son” at a rally “confounding” in a video posted to Facebook Friday, September 11th.

It was a choice that understandably raised some eyebrows on social media, considering Fogerty’s blunt lyrics about class privilege, patriotism and the Vietnam draft, which the musician touched on his video.
