Like real information, like TFWFTW

Finally something that is not riddled with advertisements, but rather, with lots of detail. A mixture of information and light drama (although at times it gets better).

Like the trailer said, the full story. Everything from where the Greeks and Persians came from, what made them different, how they came to fight, the war, all 50 years of it, what happened after the death of the principal real life character, Kimon, and a wrap up of the legacy.

No holds barred, I think a few Greeks won't like it, real truths about slaves in the ancient world at the time, and the causes of the war.

Lot of information on 2 major incidents in the war, especially about the 300 Spartans. No more detail as it would be a spoiler.

Information, 9/10, acting 4-7, some nice music as well.

Great info, but...

I find this documentary to be a very good and detailed overview of the Greco Persian Wars. But, completely unnecessary and grotesque re-enactments almost made me stop watching. I did get used to them after some time and they are not all completely terrible. Some parts were overdramatized and parallels with 9/11 were uncalled for and out of place. Series often seems like a wannabe History channel movie with drama, repeated information, loud effects, re-enactments...all the stuff that makes History channel documentaries unwatchable. But, as I said, information is really very good which makes it worth watching

I've seen better acting in Chruch plays

Horrible, just horrifically awful. If the number scale about could have went negative numbers, I would have chose them. Worst acting I have ever seen on anything. Costumes and props made from cardboard and a budget that seemed to consist of loose change found in couch cushions. Seriously, I never knew that Tiki lamps and tea candles, originated in ancient Greece...who knew?!Only thing missing was duct tape.

Great history. Horrible filmmaking.

Im a big history buff. The educational value is tremendous . But the ridiculous re-enactments are laughable. The dubbing, even when it's in the same language, is hilarious. It's like an Ed Wood movie.
