Interesting series but too much assertion and not enough evidence.

Quite a good series which aims to argue there was far more to pre-Roman Britain than most of the public believe. We visit many impressive archaeological sites to get that message home.

Francis Pyror also visits the British Museum too, what I don't think he fairly addresses though is the point so much of this history is difficult to teach as we have no written records for this periods so that means so much is open to interpretation. We are told for instance that Francis is sure the bones of dogs found in Britain during this period would have been sheep dogs but we don't actually get any evidence for this. It's the same when we are taken to sites like Stonehenge where we are told with much confidence how the locals would have interacted with it. The program seems to have a bee in it's bonnet about the way British history was taught back in the 1950s, he also can't resist a pop at the British Empire.
