I binged The Fabulous the day it came out and walked away really enjoying it. What stands out the most in this series is the main cast. They have an amazing chemistry that comes out in every scene they're in together. However, the leads, Choi Minho and Chae Soo-bin take that chemistry to another level. They are simply magical together whenever they are on screen, whether it is a romantic scene, an emotional, touching scene, or just a time when they are being flirty, playful friends. These two clearly need to work together again. They have incredible sexual chemistry alongside a clear friendship that works so nicely to develop their characters. The ups and downs of their storyline keep the viewer engaged completely. I was rooting for Minho's, Ji Woo-min, the entire time, and totally emotionally invested in their relationship. By the time, they finally confess their feelings, I was a puddle of emotion.
Chae Soo-bin is delightful actress. She plays such an adorable, passionate character, whom you cannot help but fall in love with. Meanwhile, Minho has mastered the ability to tell a story and convey a million emotions through his eyes and facial expressions alone. He's at his best as an actor when he has to display genuine emotion through his eyes, and he plays flirty, teasing Woo-min to a tee while still being able to show his conflicted deep feelings for Ji-eun.
The cinematography is really well done; overall the series is absolutely beautifully made. Though the backdrop of the fashion industry may not appeal to everyone, the stories of the characters and their friendship is completely worth watching. This is a feel good series that 20 and 30-somethings can relate to and that will leave older viewers, like myself, looking back fondly at our 20s and 30s again. Highly recommend The Fabulous.
