While being a fairly traditional sitcom in terms of its set up, this show also has been cleverly constructed to allow its star (Tim Allen) to go on rants about topics close to his heart, that I imagine come straight from his stand-up.
This episode also does slow down and have some real moments, and that's nice to see.
I'd live for the Nancy Travis character to have a bit more about her rather than just being a sort of standard sitcom wife, but apart from that it would appear that this show is finding its feet.
