You know how it is, scrolling through Amazon Prime, looking for something to watch and most times you're really playing movie roulette. Will it be good, or meh? I saw SEANCE GAMES listed, a new horror movie starring Eric Roberts, and I thought, why not? Very glad I took the chance. A lot of these movies tend to be very claustrophobic, which is a reflection of budgetary constraints. This movie opens with great scope, and becomes a very refreshing take on the haunted house story, upgrading it with Internet and social media elements. Very interesting take and well acted by some young newcomers and of course, Eric Roberts brings class and sophistication to his role. A great feature film directorial debut from Tane' McClure, and I look forward to seeing future projects from her and the rest of the cast!

Took a chance - it paid off!

Came across this and as always checked out the reviews. I NEVER believe a "1" or "10" so thought I'd check out this newish movie and do my own review. The mystery-thriller components raises it above the basic horror genre.
The desert location and then the definitely spooky main interiors setting of the hotel set the stage for chills. The characters were engaging and then some became downright evil! That transition led to dramatic scenes. And the special paranormal effects definitely added to the overall spooky ambience.
Don't let the extreme ratings scare you off! This is a strong 8 - pop up some popcorn for yourself and a pal and prepare for some surprises!

Acting is awful

Super cheesy and terrible acting....this reminds me of are you afraid of the dark....but in the worst way possible. Special effects are laughable. HOW did this get such high ratings? I am sure all these reviews are from cast members or their families. There is just no way anyone genuinely liked this. It's absolute trash and I really can't think of a single redeeming quality to this "movie" other than its only an hour and 20 minutes. But honestly it felt like it stretched on forever. I deeply regret paying money to see this joke of a movie. Zero scares. Not worth it even just to laugh at the terrible acting.

Seance Games Metaxu is a bit perplexing because it's a murder mystery within a horror paranormal movie. Without revealing a spoiler... this part of the storyline is quite intriguing. This movie isn't just your typical slash and gash horror film. There is an actual STORYLINE. The acting is all very solid as well. I enjoyed the offbeat comedic breaks from actress Nisha Catron (Sally) who plays a quirky hippy that probably holds a dark secret. We find more about her as the movie progresses. The main leads consist of actors: Andrew Ferguson (Tommy), Madison Taylor (Morgan), Olivia Deligan (Kat) and Bernard Timmons II (Stephen). They carry the film nicely as their energy and chemistry is right on point. You will ponder which one of these characters is the murderer, as the film picks up pace in the third act, in a heart pounding action horror finale!
On the edge of your seat thriller

Seance Games Metaxu is a film that will keep you on the edge of your seat with suspense. Even though it's not normally my choice to be frightened, this film ticked all the boxes. WOW! The ensemble cast was perfect in every way, they portrayed their characters unbelievably well. The storyline, location, editing and musical score flawless. For an indie film and small budget it left me hoping to see a sequel ... Seance Games Metaxu #2. Tane McClure has the passion and talent behind the camera to strive for the best. Her expertise and vision comes through when making every second count in the critical editing process. A must see.
Fun Horror Movie

This was an enjoyable watch with some tense scenes and funny moments. The actors did a great job and there was a real chemistry between the cast. I think they found some real up and coming talent and it will be cool to see what they all do next. I also thought it looked good for a low budget movie with some cool locations and impressive practical effects. Some parts were intentionally a little bit goofy whereas others were more emotional and impactful. I don't watch a lot of horror movies and I didn't find it overly scary, so as long as you're remotely interested in horror I think you will be fine to watch it.

Who says you can't make a budget indie movie?! I had a great time watching Seance Games! It's got that fun horror movie vibe you can only get out of rolling the indie roulette wheel. Take a chance on this gem and you might just find yourself chuckling and nail biting your way through an easy watching spooky haunt flick, but be sure to do it with popcorn cuz that's what the movies are all about. I hope we get a sequel because I'm pretty sure you won't find a cast of characters like this anywhere else. If I could sum it up I'd say it's good ole fashion fun. Love the spirit of this film, pun intended ;)
