A charming and enthusiastic track from the great "Easy Pieces" album, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions makes of "Brand New Friend" one of their greatest hits
followed by an enthusiastic music video where the play, sing, dance and smile all the time, along with the presence of two back-vocalists. There isn't much going
on with the video except that Lloyd looks way more fun without his usual seriousness as seen in other videos; and I wonder if the version present on YouTube is
actually the same version as seen on TV, I mean, there's some effects with the colors that makes it a little difficult to have one focused image and I do not
remember seeing such intertwined blurred effect when I saw it on TV. Anyway, I'm only in it for the music, coming from one of my favorite groups of all time, one
that is criminally underrated. 8/10.
