Great Episode

Hard to top the opening episode and this may be more the norm but the promise of good stories , writing , direction and a touch of continuing romance bodes well for this series and ratings over the next 2 years - I wouldn't be surprised if NBC increases the second season on the Network from 10 to 20 shows if its rating hold up - I like the idea of Higgins and Magnum trying to keep their romance a secret - not a new plot but an effective one that gives the writers room to inject some humor and romantic discomfort that is enjoyable to watch. - this may be the first mistake CBS has made in years - Fire Country is a pedestrian replacement and the new romantic , detective couple of Higgins & Magnum will eat them alive in ratings. Until the season 4 final ( 10 ) - I never gave this show higher than a 7 rating.

Much better than the season's first episode

Three stories happening here. We start out with Buck Green having been abducted and about to be tortured for the names of the unit he put together.

Then Magnum and Higgens catch a case from a brother whose sister, who broke from a history of drug abuse, supposed died from and overdoes. He wants to know if something or someone else was involved.

Finally, TC and Jin buy the contents of a storage unit at auction ... because Jin knows it to be filled with a thief's loot. This is an issue since they've managed to write and direct Jin as one of the most annoying characters in the history of any TV series.

The OD story is predictable and derivative.
