The directing and filming choices on this episode gave me chills.
The way this show is on the CW but brings a cinematic quality worthy of being shown on a big screen.
I don't blame the core group for their irritation at Abby, for whom they've turned their lives upside down. On the other hand, I don't blame Abby for her uncertainty.
What casting. I'd not be sure either. (And might it not matter? I'm still push-pulling on how to feel about our torturous Tom.)
---
Of course, the character emphasis in this episode is Kai. He's gone from sweet and shy, to a hidden past, to a master warrior.
What an impressive character development from. Lawrence Kao. And, oh, the feels as he is betrayed. Yes, I cried.
---
As I've said before, every character in this ensemble has such a rich back story that will take years to fully unwrap.
Even if the numbers are low right now, I'm certainly hoping we get more time with all of them.
What a great show!
