Not awful but...

I do not understand what they did with Catherine in this episode. She left her young grandaughter with 2 subordinates to take care of her? Are they baby-sitters now? That is abuse by Catherine! Also, she takes the toddler to the crime scene (full of dust and fungi) as if it was completely normal.

Besides that, the case itself was fine. I mean, there were only two real suspects, and everyone watching CSI knew who was the killer since the first minutes. But all the investigation and procedures were interesting and fine. Except because they seem to discover new "black dust" every time they searched, instead that making a full research and cleaning the first time for good.

So, in general, a more or less ok episode, tainted by grandma Catherine antics.

CSI Daycare - this show is unrecognisable now

There's nothing exciting about this show now, no suspense, no quirkiness, no originality. The stupid boring plots leave you thinking "and I care about this why?". Are we really supposed to care about Catherine's nonsensical family issues (her daughter actually was a training CSI in the previous show - do the writers even know this? - and now she's doing Onlyfans, wtaf?), let alone Catherine would choose to take her toddler granddaughter to a crime scene for the day and all her colleagues were OK with this like it's just a normal thing?

The show is now almost a man-free zone, the two men who do feature in more than just bit-parts are either emotionally stunted idiots who are too socially-challanged and scared to leave the lab, or need to keep being corrected and put down for making stupid suggestions.

I understand that some modern producers and writers feel the need to "make up" for what they perceive as prejudice and stereo-typing in old TV shows but of all the shows in which to force these opinions now, CSI isn't it, which always had lots of generally well-writen, strong female roles, that were perfectly balanced by the equally talented and capable male characters.

This show is doomed. Do they think they are going to get 10+ seasons out of this rubbish like previous CSIs?

Predictable

Anyone who has seen a single episode of CSI knew from the beginning that that woman eating a breath mint in multiple scenes was going to be what solved the case..

The Catherine/ Lindsey storyline is really weird. I loved their complicated relationship in the original series- I have no idea what the writers are doing with this..

I don't have anything else to write about this episode but I am required to write 190 more characters so I'll just talk about something else? If this show gets renewed for another season, I hope they bring Greg or Nick back. 30 more required characters to go. The end.
