So Much Questions for Next Season!
ShelbyTMItchell5 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Will not give away the ending. But really the show was very suspenseful and really so many twist and turns of a great first season. And glad that the show was really a hit and really got a second season. Unlike Alcatraz the show that was Fox's predecessor.

As the characters you really cared about for The Following unlike Alcatraz. As they seemed not one dimensional unlike Alcatraz as well.

Ryan and Claire in the end, it was really something else. Debra fighting for her own life. In a grave. While Joe and Ryan face off with one another.

Question is what will happen to Emma as the writers seem to let her get away with everything. As viewers want something bad to happen to her.

Oh onward to season 2!

Terrible...

Warning: Spoilers
This 'season finale' is SO bad, I can hardly begin to describe all the cliché's I've encountered in this episode... Is Joe dead? Is Ryan going to die? Will Claire live to see another day? I cannot fathom the poor, poor quality in writing since S01E02. From E03 onwards the story disintegrated at eye watering speed. I think this is one of THE worst series I'v seen in a long long time...

How sad that Kevin Bacon plays in this series, because I have VERY high regards for him. Still... There are bills to be paid. Let's hope Kevin earned enough so he can work on better stuff from now on, because this is truly and utterly BAD!

The '2-out-of-10' is only because Kevin Bacon plays a part, otherwise it would have been a big, fat 1.

Waste of time...

1.15 ***1/2 Is There Really Finality Here?

Warning: Spoilers
A good episode depicting the need for a continuation of this next year? Where is Emma? Are dental charts and DNA definitive for Joe's fate? Only, another season of this very grueling and eerie story can tell us more.

When Ryan finally meets up with Joe, he is able to pick him apart, and despite his so called brilliance, Joe falls for when Ryan refers to him as a pathetic person, as he was about to gouge out Clare's eyes.

Debra's fate is a cruel one, and as we could predict, there is vigilante justice shown on the part of Ryan. The latter takes matters into his own hands when he strands a fellow agent to complete his objective.

Looking forward to next season.

All I can say is. PAH-LEEZE

Warning: Spoilers
THE FOLLOWING FINALE ... SPOILERS The Following was 'annoying' the whole season and the finale was more of the same. Believe me, I like Kevin Bacon and wanted this show to work.

Basically ... here's this guy, with a crazed adoration for Edgar Alan Poe, in prision having amazing control over everyting ... he's infultrated all lines of law inforcement, has these die hard followers based on a very thin premise, dupes the FBI (if it wasn't for Ryan) almost all the time. He seems to be everywhere and always winning. Most episodes ended with a metaphorical score of Joe 10, Ryan 06

A couple of PAH-LEEEEZE / REALLY? Finale moments: 1) The only thing good about the finale was the cell phone reception. If Agt Parker can get excellent cell phone reception in a coffin, buried deep in the ground, ... I want to know that carrier. "Can you hear me now?" 2) If I get a paper cut, I'm in agony for days. Joe Carrol is stabbed twice with a knife .. restabbed with a fork and is relatively fine ... NOTE: no infection. Even with all that and intoxicated, he able to attack and fight Ryan.

3) Do not pass GO ... Do not collect $200: Joe is not off the planet for 24 hours, yet Ryan must have Claire at his apartment immediately...not in police custody. Even in the face of all those Followers still at large, 'come to my place' was a good idea to him. NOTE: Could Ryan's apartment be darker?

4) Not in the finale ... why was a pacemaker part of Ryan's character description? In the first few episodes; this weakness was irratating. You would think they would have made him more of a Jack Bauer character. Towards the end, he was close ... but no cigar. BTW: that heart problem miraculously seemed to get better three quarters the way through the season.

There's a whole lot more ...

Well That's It for Me!

Warning: Spoilers
They may have "got" Joe Carrol (which I doubt) by attacking his writing, but then this ends with massive cliches and unresolved issues. One person dies, suffocating in a coffin, another is stabbed by some psychotic woman that Ryan trusted, and on and on. And Anna is out there. I assume, since Ryan is the main character, he will recover in Season 2. But I won't be there to watch the manipulation necessary to get us to care. So many people die and for what. Because of the ravings of a lunatic writer. How could our hero have been stupid enough to not be on his guard, knowing that all those nut cases were still around. I mean, in the final episode, Anna gets the drop on him. It's so over the top, I can't imagine how, beyond "then I woke up" they can reconcile what happens next.
