In some ways, this is a film that has been made many times before: a few survivors of some sort of zombie apocalypse try to survive a few days longer. But this is not that simple of a story. Are these zombies? Werewolves? Vampires? What causes it? And why are the humans even more dangerous than the creatures?
This film is great for the makeup and special effects, as well as the overall look and feel. But it has the rare distinction of also being better for what it lacks: we do not get answers to the mysteries of this world in the short time we watch it, and that only makes it all the more intriguing. Highly recommended.
