Bloody daddy builds up great initially,but falls badly due to low grade action sequences and slow paced mid part of the movie.

Direction, performance of cast are good, especially background score is great,but the action sequences did NOT match up to the character's intensity. Dont expect it to be an action combat like John wick,u'll be disappointed. Shahid Kapoor acted well n kudos to Ronit Roy n Sanjay Kapoor,they did a great job too.

Diana penty was ok and Rajeev Khandelwal is really an underated artist,he played his character really well.

All in all its a one time watch which is good or ok in every aspect except its boring action sequences with over exaggerated slow motion shots.

Shahid Kapoor does it again... plays a phenomenal dad!

Bloody Daddy is for Shahid Kapoor fans. The movie has Shahid Kapoor written all over it. He steals the show! He is great as an actor and especially he is great at playing a dad! Jersey had proved that already!

Average music, average acting by Diana Penty and Rajeev Khandelwal. Ronit Roy had his moments!

A must watch for SK fans but nothing new. Quite an average storyline, obvious sequences and average background score.

The movie had a lot of potential but clearly couldn't do much.

Ankur Bhatia was a delight to watch- Don't miss Aarya!

A light film, binge worthy but definitely not memorable.

The trailer of the movie is much much much better than the actual movie. I mean what was the need of this copy😵 I mean why do you copy things so badly of-course shahid looked handsome but it was a movie not a wedding. No proper action sequence from an action based movie. The directors these days think thay movie is all about some fancy guns. I do not know when bollywood will start making some real content. I believe the only thing which you can watch in the movie is some fancy buildings and luxury hotels in gurugram apart from the charisma of shahid kapoor. So guys if you are really planning to watch this then you can easily skip this😝

BLOODY DADDY:-not bloody enough,and definitely not daddy enough

Bloody daddy is an action drama thriller film directed by ali abbas zafar.

Shahid kapoor is just decent. We have seen much better performances from him honestly. It looked like he was in kabir singh mode. Ronit roy and sanjay kapoor were able to make us chuckle a bit with their comic timing. Rajeev khandelwal, too is decent. Diana penty is strictly average. There is no standout performance in this film.

The writing of this film suffers a lot due to inconsistency in its pace. The first half, where the movie takes much time for the build up, feels stretched. In the second half, the well choreographed action, which is too less, is just only slightly better than the first. The stakes never get high, the matter never gets serious.

What saves the film is its style and action. The action suits shahid, the hand to hand combat between shahid and rajeev, the firegun, the fight with the baseball bat all do the job. The cinematography during the action sequences, also assist the action. The background score uses rap as an essential tool to style up the scenes, which works in its favour. The certain pop culture references about covid, etc also bring in some humour. Otherwise the camerwork is pretty mundane.

The film is devoid of any major emotion. It works on the surface level, but an emotional connect is necessary to root for the primary characters. The father son duo never come as serious and genuine, mainly due to the writing and also the one tine performance. As a result, we never really can fathom why is shahid taking so many risks for his son. The equation does not translate on screen.

The screenplay is pacy and fast, there is no sense of calmness or serenity in the screenplay. It may entertain you, but will never engage you. I rate it 7 out of 10.

Overdose of Action

Anwar Says: An out and out copy of French Hit , Sleepless Night and people who have seen the original would hardly find anything new in the movie. In fact, not a typical OTT movie, shot mostly at one location only.

A Shahid Kapur show all the way, an actor still to be explored by directors. It's not only beast in him is unleashed but his comic timing is also perfect. Ronit Roy and Rajeev Khandelwal have been under-utilised. First hour moves with a super pace and the characters are properly introduced. But in the second half Ali Abbas Zafar is unable to hold and filled it with overdose of action. Some lapses to quote- a Seven Star Hotel with hardly any security , banquet of newly weds is devastated by Shahid- absolutely useless scene, the Hotel is unaware of lactose free milk etc.

Altogether the life of neo-rich class of Delhi has been perfectly captured with excellent cinematography. One time watch and decide whether you like or hate Shahid.

Most Binged Watching Hindi Movie Right Now

I never write a review before for any Hindi movies but Bloody Daddy is literally worth to write for. After seeing the movie for first 20 min I understand that this movie was copied from a Hollywood movie called Sleepless(2017) starring Jamie Foxx. But the director done a beautiful job and he copied beautifully. The thing mostly i appreciate for in this movie is BMG, the background score was top notch. After long time I really enjoyed a hindi movie and it's feels like i'm watching a Hollywood action film. No one can done this role other than Shahid Kapoor. Every character is on point. Worth to watch.

Action packed good cop vs bad cop story

Recently I reviewed the movie " The mother" where Jennifer Lopez plays a mother who goes all out to protect her teenaged daughter from people out to harm her. In this movie ( based on a French movie) actor Shahid Kapoor plays an anti narcotics cop whose teenaged son has been kidnapped and who unleashes violence on the kidnappers with the warning to them not to harm his son. This plot is similar to a Niam Leeson movie. The movie moves at a fast pace and audiences will have no reason to complain. There are plenty of action scenes including hand to hand fights and true to the title not just daddy but quite a few characters are bloody. This is a good cop vs not a so good cop story within a time frame of 24 hours. The setting is a 7 star luxury hotel in suburban Delhi owned by Ronit Roy who has kidnapped Shahid's son to demand the bag of drugs seized by the cops. Rohit has his henchmen to help him in his evil deed and also has to deal with an impatient mafia boss ( Sanjay Kapoor).

Director Ali Abbas Zafar has ensured that a big chunk of the movie is full of action most of it taking place in the premises of the hotel ( kitchen, bar, marriage hall ) with a full fledged marriage party going on full blast and a disco full of revellers. Plenty of shooting, breaking of glass windows/ furniture/ crockery and tumbling dead bodies in every corner The acting of Shahid and Ronit is good with both looking suitably harassed and nasty by turns as things keep going out of hand. There is plenty of loud music both in songs and in the background . In common parlance one could say that the movie is value for money. There is a rider however. In case you don't like violence then you may not like the movie.

Best massy action Film of Shahid Kapoor

The film is full of great action sequences, also cast in film is great. Special mention Shahid Kapoor sir & Ronit Sir dam greats. Shahid Kapoor should do more film like this. But if he selects the original content as well as new action based movies that brings the audience back to theatres just like Kabir Singh although the experience of watching this movie was good, everything was perfect in this movie whether talk about the emotion, Action scenes, Humour was perfect & must watch movie for the action film lovers even I also love watch actions films. I can say this is not best remake but nor a bad remake also fine remake but the story telling in the film saw in many of the films in earlier era. Bollywood should focus on original content and give chances to the writer so that Bollywood can revive itself.

Shahid Kapoor does it again!

This review is based on not seeing the movies priors to this remake, both the french and tamil one. It was full of thrill and entertainment. Felt like I have seen Diana being an actress, a good one after so long. Shahid is getting real comfortable in playing wacky minded characters, and we see it. Hope Bollywood comes out with similar movies, less exaggerated scenes like in this one, good plot with good actors but please no more remakes. Bollywood step up your game, and not just by only recreating other films in hindi! The soundtracks in the film were also different, and fun to listen to. Some scenes were actually hilarious too.

I'm sorry Shahid, but this was bad!

As a well wisher of Shahid, it pains me to see and state that this was such a massive disappointment!

Bloody Daddy's teaser and trailer led me to believe that it would be an action-packed, rugged, and stylish crime drama. I was unaware that there would be only twenty five minutes worth of stunts and choreography, while the remainder of the movie is a puerile attempt at developing a revenge plot that tends to revolve around an abduction and subsequent rescue operation.

The first half is unbelievably bad; the drama is unpersuasive, the dynamics don't seem to work, and the performances failed to convince me of the actual gravity of the situation. The second half of the film becomes mildly interesting, the pace quickens, and the characters get more and more desperate.

This sudden turn of events increased the risk factor, which led to some impressive hand-to-hand fight sequences, but the underlying drama failed to have a positive influence. And I would like to place the blame for this failure on the editing and the incredibly poor dialogue writing. If truth be told, I didn't expect such inferiority from someone like Ali Abbas Zafar.

P. S. Shahid looks great while performing action, and I believe that, with better scripts and stories, he could become a viable action hero - not the massy type, but the classy one.

Impressive Action done by Shahid Kapoor

First of all i wanna told you it's an Action Packed Thriller Movie.

Story and Direction : No nonsense film Ali Abbas Zafar don't make fool viewers , Director followed actual storyline till end, it Never feeling me boring, every single second were interesting

The Movie will let you have a different mind while watching it The LOVE of father and son is beautifully presented.

Acting : Shahid Kapoor did one of the best Performance, Hard Hitting Action done by Shahid also dialogue and expression have shown the character in an extraordinary way Ronit Roy , Rajeev Khandelwal played their character very well.

Diana Penty roll was short, but she delivered her best.

Shahid steals the show in this one

This is the kind of films bollywood should make more. It is a well done remake starring Shahid Kapoor, Diana Penty and Ronit Roy.

I really liked how the protagonist was presented and how his darker side was revealed at many instances of the film, which will make you question if he deserves the sympathy you might have for him otherwise.

The action scenes did make me remember John Wick but I am not complaining. Also, the music used during action sequences felt trippy and very artistic, which is brilliantly done on the director's part.

This would make a good movie to watch with buddies. Definitely deserved a cinema release.

Copy without brain

First of all dear Bollywood filmmaker if u are making copy please pay your gratitude to the original filmmaker because creativity is not yours, secondly pathetic acting by each and every actor specially the child, action scenes are not impactfull, if u want to make bollywoodish John wick please sure actors are good enough and creator should have the vision, this film is without vision, frame to frame copy and bad acting. Original I.e the sleepless night is 1000 times better option than this and one can see the desperation and frustration in the eyes of the pratogonist but in this Bollywood crap they are selling the good looks of shaheed Kapoor but not the film. Shaheed is one good actor who already proved his metal in films like kameene and Haider, but through films like this, dear shaheed you are wasting the time of ours (not know yours). Bollywood is a capital economy and no roots at all. No wonder south cinema is now way ahead of Bollywood.

Fast Paced action movie. As its name you'll except more from shahid kapoor and from the film but it's a good watch.

Somewhere it looses it's grip but not much.. Overall gripping movie it is.

This movie is Kamal Hassan's Remake T. V (Google it) and that was loosely adapted from the French movie Sleepless Night.

Now shahid kapoor touched his another level of acting.

With Gripping Storyline, Okay Okay BGM movie is worth watch.

Strong but middling second and third act

The movie starts off strongly, setting up a potentially exciting edge-of-your-seat thriller, but the screenplay quickly looses steam around midway and never quite recovers. It meanders a lot, as if the writers couldn't figure out how to fill certain parts of the section, so they shoehorn odd comedic scenes that only works because of the supporting cast members.

Shahid Kapoor plays yet another anti-hero and does so with remarkable ease. There is a certain uneasiness (and calmness) in his portrayal that is quite attractive. He finds a layer of nuance that distinguishes from the other similar characters he has played before. The support cast, which includes Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal and Diana Petty does a great job, too.

Overall, a decent watch. It's two hours and there is lots to enjoy if you have nothing better to do. It's free on Jiio so it's not a money sink either.

If you are thriller and action lover definitely this is for you....

only and only for shahid..Shahid Kapoor is easily one of the best, talented and hard working actor in Bollywood right now. His acting looks surreal. 🔥 After seeing Bloody Daddy I was 100% convinced that If shahid kapoor was casted in An Action Hero then that movie would have been a blockbuster ..even ayushman khurana was good in action hero and If anybody who can play cool antagonist in Dhoom 4 then that would be Shahid kapoor .. Shahid kapoor for Dhoom 4.

No wonder why Ambani thought to directly dump this film on Jio Cinema 😂🤣😆 its not for theatres but totally for ott ...seems its to promote jio cinema...to gain

IDs giving 10/10 to this are obviously from Shahid's PR team because they all read the same. Faking reviews doesn't make it a better film.

When copywood hasn't been working recently then why attempt this again?

People praising Shahid should understand that his last 4 films have been remakes and he has done nothing original recently.

Kabir Singh was a fluke at the box office and now Shaahid thinks this remake formula is a sure thing at the box office.

Over rated director and actor come together to make a disaster which the makers had no guts to go to the theatres with.

This film is just another piece of garbage you will get to see for free on the OTT.

If you really want to watch this film then watch the original or south remake which are much better.

Fantastic movie for action lover

Nice movie it's dialogues action Thrill and so on. I just love it the acting od sahid sir and In last the drama in such a nice level. While well-made crime shows and films based on drug mafias have been keeping us hooked to the big screen and on streaming platforms, we are served a half-baked and bland Bloody Daddy. Right from sketchy characters with absolutely no back stories, a wafer-thin plot to a screenplay that unfolds like scattered pieces of a puzzle and a climax that takes no NASA brains to decode, this Ali Abbas Zafar directed film makes you wonder if he rushed to make it, write it, edit it and release it, basically faltering in every aspect of filmmaking. Amazing Thriller

A Amazing Movie By Sahid Kapoor . This has Amazing Storyline And Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya, Premam and Savyasachi fame debuts on OTT with Bloody Mary (written by Prashanth Kumar Dimmala) - a film that wants you to believe it's cleverer than it really is. What starts off as a crime thriller soon turns into a commercial hotchpotch and before you know it, you're watching cool slow motion shots while wondering where all this is heading.

The way the story unfolds in the beginning, you truly wonder how this trio has managed to survive this long by themselves. Certain decisions they take make no sense, especially from people who're used to fighting for survival. What is appreciable however is that Prashanth doesn't use the trio's conditions to garner sympathy. He however expects you to suspend disbelief a little too much as the film progresses, especially when everything is based on happenstance, and instead of peeling back the layers on the enigma that is Mary through smart writing, he decides to give her the 'mass hero' treatment. Mary's face-off scenes with the CI sees her do things that are usually reserved for her male counterparts in the industry - which is refreshing - but the ending doesn't have the desired effect. By the time Sekhar babu (Brahmaji) - Prabhakar's foe - enters the fold, it's all chaos.

Bloody Mary falls short of being a complex and grey film because it doesn't go the extra mile to tell a novel story. To Chandoo's credit, his direction is top-notch, so is Karthik Ghattamaneni's camerawork, Kaala Bhairava's music and Viplav's editing. The length of the film is perfect for the genre. It's only the basic story penned by Prashanth that you wish could've been smarter because it proves to be the film's biggest downfall. Nivetha and Ajay shine in their roles. The film depends a lot on these two giving their best and they do, even if the role is a cakewalk for the latter. Rajkumar, Kireeti and Brahmaji are good too, but they don't get the scope to perform.

The OTT has given filmmakers the scope to tell unique stories, irrespective of whether they have the desire effect or not. Bloody Mary is one such film. Watch it this weekend without expectations if you like crime thrillers. Just don't expect something logical.

Watched for Shahid and disappointed that he did this kind of movie. Zero story and weak script with horrendous screenplay

Run, get beaten, beat enemies , repeat.

People getting shot are walking the next scene. Shahid is stabbed in the beginning but is fighting the whole movie. Gets out of hospital in 48 hours

Another villain is badly beaten but next second the face is fine when about to get plummeted by TV

Not sure if Ronit Roy was in serious role or comedy. He was anything but intended.

Funny part is even the make up of Rajeev Khandelwal is so clearly visible after getting beaten.

What a waste.

A One Time Watch Action Flick...

In Bollywood action movies made like this has become rare. I appreciate the director Ali for making this action flick though the story is not proper and it has some flaws but still a movie made like this is always good to watch.

Talking about the film it has basic plot the way all action movie does nothing new or unique and there are many lack of scenes which will make you bore and it runs in a repeat mode. But I like the tone which the movie is carrying specially whenever the action sequences is going on the bgm is perfectly suited. Screenplay could've been little fast as there are lot of stretchy scenes which does not make any sense. Action is good but not what we thought. The scale is big the music is good but the uniqueness is missing what director has promised. But still you can enjoy one time.

Shahid Kapoor is the highlight and the centre of the film. He carries the whole film in his shoulder and acting is superb. Diana is good and perfectly suited in the role. Rest of the cast is just average in their performances.

Movie has good humor too rather than serious action or storyline. Movie doesn't connect with you in any format not emotional or not serious issues but it'll make you laugh at some scenes and some dialogues are real funny.

You can definitely enjoy this film for 1 time and I hope if they make a Sequel they better concentrate on story rather than baseless action sequences....

Good Timepass

Good movie for timepass. The concept is nothing new but the film making is what we are talking about. The action is engaging. Not illogical superhuman scenes which frustrates viewer's. Good acting from all the actors especially shahid. Seen him after a while in the movies and he is still good as he is always been. He looked dashing in the movie. The scenes, the setup, all gave the vibe of proper Underworld crime lord movie. The story is just simple and not too complicated. All you go to focus on is the action and the acting of actors.

The ending twist will also give you a Shock.

Overall, a good movie.
