Satire
thriftymallard15 May 2024
Daniel Tosh does an excellent job of taking the seriousness out of reality tv. His approach of introducing ridiculous challenges to contestants - for example The contestants had to build a raft of pool noodles to cross a pool to unlock a chest. At one point, a contestant asked why there is plywood when there's nothing to tie it together. The subtle bit of satire is what makes the show so funny and great and different from the seriousness of the high budget TV shows that America is obsessed with.

I think anybody going into the show looking for serious competition and drama are going to be disappointed. The point of the show is to poke fun at mainstream tv.

People fail to see that this is a joke

The show is poking fun at reality TV shows. What a fantastic concept and hilarious option to bring on Daniel Tosh to tie everything together. Tosh's unique brand of humor and sharp wit add an extra layer of satire that makes the show even more enjoyable. The writing is clever, the characters are delightfully exaggerated, and the parody is spot-on. It's refreshing to see a show that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering sharp commentary on the absurdity of reality TV. Each episode manages to surprise with its creative take on familiar reality show tropes, making the audience laugh and think simultaneously. The production values are high, and the attention to detail in mimicking the style and format of actual reality shows is impressive. This approach to comedy is both innovative and entertaining, showing the ridiculousness of reality TV while providing genuine laughs. I'll be watching this until the end and eagerly anticipating each new episode, as it continues to be a standout in the comedy genre. The show's ability to blend humor with insightful critique makes it a must-watch for fans of both comedy and reality TV.

40 year adults + chaos
NotYourMovie10 May 2024
"The Goat" is a prime example of everything wrong with reality TV. Instead of genuine human interaction, viewers are subjected to a cringe-inducing spectacle of middle-aged adults stooping to new lows for money. The constant lying and backstabbing among the contestants only serve to highlight the show's lack of substance and moral integrity. It's a sad reminder of how far reality television has fallen, offering nothing but cheap thrills at the expense of decency and authenticity.

One word Tosh.

Yes it's the bottom of the barrel when it comes to "reality tv" Competitions? The competitions are haphazard at best. But Tosh points that out. Randomly walks around the house. If you are a Tosh fan... then you can power through the moments when he's not on screen. Mediocre show enhanced by one of the best comedians around.

They definitely have something here. They do need to get actual reality stars that more people will recognize. It's an entertaining concept... just put together half ass, last minute. Put some more effort into the actual competitions. Make them actually hard. A show I hope they continue and re took a bit.

Goat free
TheUniquePerception15 May 2024
The best part is that most of the contestants seem to believe that they might be the greatest of anything. For the audience it is yet another wonderful opportunity to witness people more desperate than a normal person. Lots of teeth bleaching, veneers and breast implants. In short, the decay of western civilization is officially here. At least Tosh is honest about his motivation. The man has an expensive house to take care of and they paid him to host! Tosh. O just might be the one good decision made by the producers. Remove this host and this show would be even more pathetic. It was a nice try to ride the small wave of semi interesting partial famous wannabes, but this attempt is a fail.

Best reality TV show, I have seen so far!
vitalymakievsky19 May 2024
One big reason I am really enjoying this show is because Tosh is the host, I'm a big fan. Also, really don't like any reality TV shows I have seen, and I've seen quite a few...well, because I have dated a number of women, so it comes with the territory.

One thing I really have about reality TV is that these shows take themselves far to seriously, and the contenders as well. I'm sure in most reality TV shows have applied psychologists pick the reality actors, to be psychologically toxic, sociopathic, and create an environment for terrible behavior. Or, really most reality TV is just boring, and pointless.

The GOAT, is definitely a light hearted show, which really make fun of reality TV, via satire. I also, like the contestants, because they do have fun personalities, some are just charming. And in the GOAT things do "get real" so that aspect is fun to watch in moderate doses.

If you are like me, I think you will really enjoy the GOAT. For those who are big fans of reality TV, I can see how this show might not have enough entertainment value for you. Still, for the reality TV lovers, this show does have everything, so give it a go. You might enjoy a more light hearted funny satire.

Just no

I turned off The Goat when some of the players started interrogating the other players, insisting on knowing who didn't vote with the alliance. What the heck is that about? We have watched every episode of The Traitors, and it's a must see in our house. We love The Traitors. We had hoped that this show would be similar. Well it's not, it's not even close. The missions are weak, the players are unlikeable and Tosh isn't even remotely funny. This show is just a huge waste of time.

This is possibly the worse reality game show that I have ever seen, it exemplifies what's wrong with American TV today.

Legends of reality TV means nobodies who were on one show
izay14214 May 2024
Where is Johnny Bananas? Where is Boston Rob? You gonna call your show The Goat and claim it is legends of reality TV and then compile a list of people nobody knows, most of which weren't even on competition reality shows. Even the CBS season of The Challenge had bigger reality TV stars than this. These are the only people the could find, and it makes the premise completely pointless. How can someone be the goat of reality if all they did was fall in love on one show. Gtf out of here with this stupidity. Could have been great, but instead it feels like a cheap knockoff of a dozen better shows. Keep it.
