Great Character Work

Warning: Spoilers
Easily best episode yet. I thought the Winter King would be the pinnacle of quality but this show just keeps on giving.

As a standalone episode the A, B and C plots are all great. This universe seems to be the last stop in the multidimensional-hopping series of episodes that began in "Destiny", and it's a fitting end. The "What if the Lich won?" timeline is desolate and ominous, the atmosphere really captures what made Ooo 3000+ so great in the Adventure Time finale. The dead treehouse with a single note from Finn saying he'd be right back sets the tone perfectly, and the melted Ice Kingdom now being a pile of Ice King's old stuff is a really cool image and the expired Candy Kingdom is even better. BMO is amazing as always and has a similar reaction to the state of the world as they did in the 3000+. The writers know that they can never make Fionna and Cake as loved as Finn and Jake in so little time, so throughout the show (and this episode in particular) they've been developing them as very separate people. Cake especially seems to have faced her first real serious moment after the vampire universe, better late than never.

The background story of Simon and Betty is also surprisingly heartfelt. It's nice to see Betty actually get an episode that shows her as a person, devoid of magic and time travel.

The small, infrequent portions of the prismatic world was also very fun, Orbo being a highlight character. What makes this episode so great is how the plots connect by the end. The Betty story serves as therapy for Fionna throughout the episode, but just as the portal is closing the story allows Simon to learn why he loved Betty (maybe even though Fionna's similar energy) and achieve his goal without him even wanting to. To be honest I really didn't expect this show to be that good but so far it's blown me away! If episode 9 and 10 follow trend of every batch of episodes getting better, this show will be a 10/10. They have the Lich, Prismo's boss and Golb all about to come into play, so I have faith in the finale living up to expectations.

So much was going on

Warning: Spoilers
So this episode starts off with them traveling to a universe where all living lifeforms are dead. Then we get to see BMO all alone which is very sad seeing everyone dead except him, The Stories that Simon had about betty were sweet seeing how they met was something that was needed. I mean the one thing I love about adventure time is the lore, i'm actually really impressed by how well this episode was written and how it makes you feel empathy and sorry for Simon, how he just wanted to be happy and can't be, cause of betty not being in his life she did so much to bring him back that seeing him struggling on bringing her back is just very emotional to see. I can't believe that the Lich went with his plan In this universe. That ending where we saw in the Litch's eyes is probably a catalyst comet carrying Golb but I can't believe there's only two episodes left until the season ends but yeah 10/10.

A Masterpiece

SPOILERS

This episode, brother.

Filled with joy and anticipation for the following week, this was a masterpiece in every aspect.

It was very good, perfect in every way for a classic Adventure Time fan.

An epic reappearance of the Lich, where he promises to explain about him being one of Golb's scholars.

"Quote from the boss of Prismo and Simon's story with Bet, BMO dying in a sad and considerably lonely way, and a clear reference to Golb at the end. The episode ends with Golb, Lich, Scarab, Simon, and Betty." xd

I would only complain about Fionna taking the crown out of her backpack, which was very anti-climactic.

I would give the episode a 9.7.

But there was no way, so I rounded it to 10.

Laughed and cried

Laughed and cried a lot. Anyone who knew the series knows what I mean. Best Episode so far!

The series is just depressing (not in a bad way!). I guess I just find the series so "sad" because I'm starting to relate characters to myself.. I hope Fionna helps Simon with Betty (sort of!.. in the future...)"

This is wrong.
abdiramosjo4 October 2023
This chapter may be the best, but you are exaggerating. It's kind of boring, it doesn't really give me anything more convenient. It's not a good series and I don't like this thing about magic existing. I would like Finn to annihilate all the inhabitants of OOO, to restore the human race or at least avenge it.

Everyone is wrong, thinking that this chapter is perfect.

It is very overrated. As much as Steven Universe, an even worse rated series.

The series "Fionna and cake" has nothing iconic, but Prismo is the worst of the series for what it does. I just wish they all died at once.

The series is useless for everyone. I don't know what makes "Gumball" underrated on this website.
