The most beautifully shot, heart warming and heartbreaking documentary which brought much laughter and many tears to a captivated audience at a local screening.

The film adopted a refreshing, no frills approach, allowing each person to tell their own story in their own time.

The local characters were immediately endearing to the viewer and we were offered a privileged insight into how and why they have chosen, or found themselves living the lifestyle they do.

A simpler life is not without the harsh realities - for all have to navigate the predictable Devon weather. Others found the practicalities and legalities are a constant threat and for some, the raw and palpable loneliness was enough to bring many viewers to tears.

Refreshing, real, uplifting, funny and moving, a truly remarkable piece of cinema.

A masterpiece

What an amazing documentary this is about off grid life in North Devon. Such Authenticity. A lot of really touching stories and about amazing people. The photography is wonderful and creates such a brilliant atmosphere. The soundtrack could have been cliched but wasn't and was so well chosen. Hope to see this a second time soon.... it's that worthwhile. I really hope a streaming or a mainstream channel will pick this one up and show it.. seems a shame if more people don't get the opportunity to see this. A fascinating masterpiece, especially once you know this was filmed over the course of ten years. See if if you can!
