Tune in to the weekly Scriptwriting Seminar
darthpaul699617 April 2024
This show keeps surprising every single week. Of course with the banger of an episode that episode 5 was, this week's ep had a lot to live up to. And it did not disappoint. We got the return of an important character with specific beliefs and morals who never went out of character and showed us what humanity actually stand for. Not only that but we got the continuation to Storm's arc which also came to a beautiful closure and she got a vast upgrade. My only complaint is that we didn't get much info about the consequences episode's 5 cliffhanger has had on the world and of course the X-men themselves. However we did learn who's behind it and my only guess is that by the time the season has ended, we will talk about one of the greatest 1st season of a show in TV history.

I am LIGHTNING!
and_mikkelsen17 April 2024
After last weeks INSANE episode, I kinda knew that this episode would not reach the same level! However this was still a great and enjoyable story, even if it didn't pick up where the previous one left off!

This episode was the first to really introduce the cosmic elements and the return of a certain character! I am very excited to see where this goes! It felt like the introduction to something that will play a larger role later on! Some great philosophies of co-excistence and how those witt power, always feel like they have the right to use it, for their own personal needs!

Storm also gets some great moments and scenes! I was really hyped amd excited at one point! Sometimes the toughest challenge, provides the greatest reward!

Now the end shows us that things could get very serious!

A Chance to Catch Your Breath
theblindkid32517 April 2024
After the events of episode 5, episode 6 is a welcome chance to emotionally recover. The Storm half of the episode is a 10.

The line about demons...hot fire. Loads of quotables on this side of the episode.

The other part of the episode is a 7, only because it felt like it came out of nowhere (perhaps it's a comic storyline that I am simply unaware of). The two mesh together well, though. This definitely had it's moments, one surefire meme-able quote will resonate around the internet for years to come.

As was stated by Beau - 8, 9, 10 are the ones to rival episode 5. I look forward to what 7 brings to the table before we have to get our service animals, pills, tissues, and appointments with our therapists.

Storm
ElvisSavir17 April 2024
A Storm is coming on the horizon and for that, the X-men are now getting prepared with the return of two of their most powerful members.

In general, I love that every character is getting the protagonism they deserve, You don't feel like anyone is forgotten in the shadows. The Beauty of the show increases constantly giving us Moments to remind.

This show is actually surprinsing me every day, it gets better and better, and it promises to take us to another level. We will be waiting for.

As a kid I used to enjoy the show in a lower level because i couldnt get the whole meaning of the story, now, as a young adult I think I'm ready to appreciate the complexity of the comic.

KEEP EM COMIN X-MEN
finkaidan18 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Another week, another amazing episode. I wouldn't necessarily call this a filler episode like the Jubilee part, because this episode is setting up for some crazy stuff for the rest of the season. A Storm and Charles centered episode which I don't mind as they were the only ones who have not had any clue about what happened in Genosha. On the Storm arc, she's back and better than ever and I am very very excited for it. Her arc with Forge was needed. The ending with Storm seeing the news station about what happened on Genosha, goosebumps yet again. Charles.. he's back! And they made him strong and the class he held with the characters made me cackle. Him seeing Gambit's death and turning down love to be with his team is beautiful. Storm and Charles are going to be back with what's left of the team, FINALLY. That darn Mr. Sinister strikes again. I feel like the rest of this season is going to be absolutely intense.

Storm And Charles Return!
kyliemm24 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
After the emotional trauma of episode 5, I needed a break but also wanted to see immediately what happened afterward.

After being in space due to illness or injury (I don't remember lol), Charles is all better and getting married to the Shi'ar empress! Of course the kingdom doesn't like him so he has to prove himself. I loved Charles putting the entire empire, Deathbird and Ronan the Accuser in their places. I sort of wish Charles hadn't come back so soon.

As for the other half, Storm getting her powers back was an amazing thing to see and she has a cool new look! I learned that it was her original look from the comics or something like that, which was cool.

Next week, I assume we come back to more trauma.

Unusually lacking in stakes or impact
thegreendrinker18 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This episode didn't feel as paradigm shifting as episodes 1 - 3 and 5 which wouldn't be an issue if the episode didn't also feel like it lacks grit. Storm's embrace of her powers feels like it happens fairly easily all things considered. I was hoping that her temporary loss of powers would leave some mental scars because that would feel more human and relatable. As it is, Storm just has to believe in herself again which is something Storm is already pretty good at. Her transformation featured some stunning animation and displays of awesome power, but the storyline should have baked a lot longer. This is the major con of the storytelling structure of this season- there is no time for anything to breathe. It has mostly made up for that, however, with thought provoking themes and shocking developments.

The other issue I have is perhaps the inevitable nature of comic book adaptations: Charles Xavier is (for some unexplained reason- I haven't seen the original) alive. This furthers the weakening of the stakes and not to really any compelling end. Xavier's conflict, whether to erase his memories of Earth and his school or abandon his chance at true love, is an incredibly difficult one. Unfortunately, it ends without any sacrifice as well. Xavier is given a vision of the Genosha massacre and then the choice becomes moot because of course he is going to help his beloved students.

In general, this episode worries me because it makes Storm and Xavier's respective storylines feel kind of pointless. If Xavier can just come back to Earth and Storm can get her powers without having changed as people then both of their plots feel like cul-de-sac plots. Xavier being dead, especially, feels more interesting than him being alive- at least, so far. I like Xavier and Storm as characters and they are fun to spend time with, but this episode doesn't really justify itself.

Show is Giving Me Whiplash
infinitetyler18 April 2024
I'm not just hating on the show, there is a DRAMATIC difference between episodes in terms of writing quality. Episodes 1 & 2 were enjoyable, 3 was fantastic, 4 was time I'll never get back, and 5 was mundane until it concluded with one of the most powerful moments in animated tv history. And now we're back to Storm and... Professor X? Did I miss something?

I don't understand the show's fixation on romances. I understand that love story subplots were always part of X-Men, but the show runners are putting a lot of emphasis on the soap opera elements for this iteration of the franchise. It's in literally every episode, so maybe I'm experiencing the Mandela Effect in thinking that the 90's kids show focused more on action than the development of romantic relationships between characters. Either way, I'm not interested in seeing Professor X run through Brie Larson's singing planet storyline from 'The Marvels'.

The resolution of Stom's story is probably the high point of the episode, but the entire thing seemed kind of unnecessary in the first place since we've already thoroughly explored the "mutant gets cured of powers" premise in the 18 year old movie. She had to be defeated and overcome obstacles to build herself up, so that was a little different, and good in terms of character development. I liked the speech Professor X gave towards the end. ...but then the big cliff hanger was reminding the audience of the legitimately awesome cliffhanger in episode 5, followed by teasing a villain that we've already seen defeated in a previous episode.

'Lifedeath-Part 2' isn't as bad as 'Motendo', but it's definitely one of the weakest episodes of the series. However given the show's track record, there will probably be at least one more banger of an episode before it's over, so I'm not throwing in the towel yet. Now give me your hate, Marvel stans!

Wanted to love it so much, but...
marvelfour18 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
So, up until this point, I've absolutely loved where this show has taken the characters. Every episode from 1-5 has been nothing but deep and powerful storytelling with so much love for every character and their relationship with others. Episode 4 was probably my least favorite of the first half, but overall, so good and an absolute pleasure to watch every week. Honestly, Episode 3 should have been what the live action New Mutants could've been in terms of tone and depth of horror. Having said that, Lifedeath Part 2 personally didn't work for me. The main thing: Showing that Charles Xavier was actually still alive.

I personally have never watched the 90s X-men animated series in its entirety. When the first trailer for the series revealed that Charles had died, I was heavily invested in where the show could go and the spotlights it could give on characters trying to move on from such a loss. When it was revealed that Charles Xavier actually lived and left the X-men without telling them, honestly it took me out of the show and heavily conflicted with the second half of Storm's story, which should have been the only focus in the episode as a whole.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but this episode to me felt like the least favorite of all.
