Lacey Games is one of the few examples of online horror that uses the genre and medium to tell a meaningful and heart-wrenching story. The games and Lacey's story aren't just for scares; they tell an honest and important story of girlhood and how abuse silently affects people, even after they're out of the abusive situation. Tundra beautifully uses the digital horror genre to tell a brutally honest story, not explored in the genre in this way before. Each episode reveals more and more about the story beyond the horrors of the Lacey games, and expands on more and more of the truth that Lacey, and by proxy Rocio, have gone through.

Horrific and Heartfelt

Warning: Spoilers
The whole Lacey Games series combines the nostalgia of the 2000s with the horror that comes with abuse and losing one's childhood. Despite the episodes' colorful visuals and seeming innocence, a darkness lingers beneath the surface. Lacey is more than just a flash game girl, she's an embodiment of trauma and the long lasting effects of abuse. Ghosttundra combines these human stories with nostalgia and horrific, twisted visuals to create a both terrifying and heartfelt experience. I rarely find myself attached to characters in the analog/digital horror genre, but Lacey holds a very special place in my heart.
