Wb vs Ess, at Marvel Stadium.

Perkins and Setterfield out for Essendon, Goldstein kicks the opener from a free, Naughton marks and replies. Ugle-Hagan looking good takes a nice one-handed grab and converts, the Bombers lead by 4 at quarter-time. A poor kick-out by Martin, comes straight back over his head. Langford making media statements and all of sudden getting some soft calls. Duursma goals from 50, Essendon up 8 at the half. Jones goals from 50 in the 3rd. They pay marks these days when multiple people touch it, Ugle-Hagan gets one that Darcy clearly had both hands on. Langford burns Stringer in the goal-square, the Bombers up 14 going into 3-quarter time. Jones marks and goals on the angle, playing a solid game. Essendon kicks on and blows out the lead, the final margin 29 points. The Bombers dominated the hit-outs and were +6 in the clearances, with an equal amount of the footy. The Dogs with 1 more inside 50, for equal scoring shots, Essendon's conversion the difference. Liberatore best afield for the losing side, with 25 disposals, 17 contested, 10 clearances, 6 inside 50's and 6 tackles. Ugle-Hagan 5 contested marks and 3 goals, needs to improve his conversion. For the Bombers, Durham effectively negating Bontempelli, with 21 disposals, 6 clearances, a goal and an assist. Redman 21 disposals, 19 effective, 10 intercepts and 553 metres gained. Jones and Duursma among the best as well.
